We spent an easy Sunday afternoon at our local art museum (we go pretty often). As we passed the plaza/fountains area, he pretended to have a sharp piece of gravel under his foot. When we stopped so he could get it out, he bent down on one knee and asked. I never looked at it in its box, I was already crying and I put it on my finger without looking at it. We've been dating for over 7.5 years now... so needless to say, him asking me to marry him definitely trumps the ring. The ring is just a (very!) nice bonus
