I could not think of a good title for this thread! Do you ever daydream or contemplate about simplifying your "stuff"? I have so many watches sitting in a safe at my bank. And I have so many Vuitton bags and 5 Chanels and 3 cartier Love bracelets (also in safe at bank!). Sometimes I wonder if I should just cash in (Yoogis?) and buy 1 amazing diamond soleste ring at Tiffanys! Do I really need 3 rolexes, 2 J12s, Cartier ballon bleu , love bangle and 2 cuffs and so many bags? I wonder in future, which would be most desirable to my 14 yr old daughter in like 10 years? Would she appreciate the watches and cartier pieces more or the "vintage" bags? I should probably just sell bags to Yoogis but I don't know! Anyone been in this dilemma? Not actually doing this now cause I'm so conflicted. But it is interesting to think about......

My theory is that it you have not used an item for a year, sell it instead of it sitting in the safe. I would do it to fund a big ticket item, especially for a soleste ring! Which soleste are you in love with?

I actually like the yellow. I think it is called fancy intense. Not sure which shape though. I tried 2 on yesterday. One was a bit squarish and the other was oval. Thinking if saving for 2 years and then if I decide to go for a larger ring ( greater carat weight), I can always sell bags or watches to yoogis!

Would you give up 2 cartier love cuffs and a speedy emp 25 bag to earn maybe $8500? Wouldnt get a huge ring but probably quite beautiful. I didn't photograph my items yet. Maybe I will and submit to Yoogis by summer's end. My birthday is September. I have a white gold bangle LOVE which I prefer over the 2 cuffs. And I don't think the speedy 25 would be terribly missed. Or I can always put $8000-$8500 down on ring and finance a couple thousand. I believe they allow you to do that on Tiffany charge for diamond rings with no interest. Usually for 9 months or so.

If you don't wear your love cuffs, get rid of them as you will not miss them, plus you already have a love bracelet. I am sure you can live without the speedy too. A yellow diamond is harder to come by so I would totally get it if I were you.

Jumping in here :) - Imho the Yellow Diamond Soleste Ring is TDF! I have dropped many not so subtle hints to dh over the years that I would want one as a right hand ring. Imho I feel between .40 - .50 cttw center stone is the perfect size. I think it looks great on my size 6 finger- definately sparkly but not too large for daily wear. I feel that the larger size stones tend to either look more like engagement rings or are too dressy for daily wear.

Personally I would sell the leather first and then decide what jeweler y to keep thereafter. I would also keep a watch and a cuff, and then sell the last two pieces if I really didn't want them.

I did sell a lot of my jewelry and then purchased one single piece with the money I made from the sales.

I still have a few items of jewelry in the safe to sell. I may also sell some purses.

I was just overwhelmed by the amount of things I had/still have.

I am trying to keep the items I love and use and get rid of the excess.

I don't need as much as I have. I can only wear so much of it and a lot of it I just don't like or enjoy anymore.

Have been trying to do the same in my closet.

The Tiffany Soleste is very pretty ring, whatever size center stone.

It's up to you to downsize as you see fit. I do advise you to forget about what your daughter might like in 10 years. There's no way to know. This is your stuff, so figure out what pleases you.

Since you ask, I'd say the handbags are the least likely to appeal or mean something sentimentally to your daughter down the road. It may just seem old fashioned. Fine jewelry has a better staying power, but again, a gamble.

She would, on the other hand, love $$$, so a real investment might be a win for her. (None of these goods you mention will appreciate over time, only depreciate.)

I may be in the minority here, but I think you should not get the Soleste. To me, it sounds like you want to sell stuff so you can have the funds to purchase one more easily. This may be a phase that will pass. Some of the items you mentioned owning are classics, and you may regret selling then so hastily. Evaluate your collection and find out what you absolutely adore and what you don't. Put prices aside, and go from there. Don't sell big ticket items just to buy one ring unless you really do not use your high dollar items anyways. Perhaps, you should take time to save up for the Soleste. That will give you enough time to contemplate your decision and not force you to get rid of items prematurely.
