Thank you Mooks. I think I may have an awkward foot as it is very, very slim indeed which is perhaps why it is slipping at the heel?
I am in the UK and usually take a 4.5 to a 5, usually a 5 as many shoes don't come in half sizes. I suppose the conundrum I am having is that there seems to be so much variation between sizing charts and Ugg size recommendations from folks online, I just can't work out what I should aim for because nothing feels quite right. I believe a UK size 4.5 is around a US 6 or 6.5? Thusly one would imagine that US size 5 should be the size I go for but that feels very tight, my toes come right to the end.
My big question is do these really, really stretch that much? People seem to suggest the wool interior flattens and, with pressure, the skin will stretch a heck of a lot. If they stretch that much then maybe I should take the pain and try and make the size 5 stretch out? I guess it may be better than the pain of a boot which is loose at the heel and rubbing?
I'm so bummed because I simply adore these boots and want to buy more but am still totally unconfident about sizing! I tried the Ugg inserts in the larger size thinking it would solve the problem but it felt horrible with the arch support and raised my foot too high and my big toe stuck right into the top of the boot and showed very obviously.
For those of your who have changed your Ugg insoles after a while, did you use the the Ugg ones with the arch support or do they do a flatter version?
