Think life is more casual. People do what feels best for them at the time.

I would only button up a trench coat in bad weather now.

However if I was wearing one in a more formal situation, church or synagogue it would be buttoned & belted.

In high school, a very long time ago on the other side of the Atlantic we were required to keep our school uniform Burberry’s buttoned & belted in public.

Think now it more a case of what works best.

Your trench looks awesome on you! I think you don't see it men often these days as many men dress like slobs and wear loose fitting shapeless clothes. In the U.S. where I live, men tend to wear trench coats for work in professional environments. After hours, it's sloppy clothes such as sweatshirts and hoodies which is what I see men wear these days. With COVID, the trend now is even more casual with Athleisure wear being popular. It will pass though, people will get sick of wearing stretchy clothes and looking like they came from the gym. The fashion world is ever changing, but the trench is a classic.

Also, not all men have the physique to wear a trench coat. You are nice and slim, and coat fits you perfectly. If you were plump with a big belly, it would not fit you as well, and you would probably steer away from it. Men who have a belly tend to purchase a straight cut car coat, or a short nylon zipper jacket.

The history of trench coats was made for men, for WW II, for the soldiers to stay warm and dry in the "trenches" while fighting, hence the nickname trench coat. Trench coats were not made for women, so a trench is definitely a man's clothing. It is a classic look, and to me, it is a very European look. I have a friend who lives in Paris, and he always wears his trench coat, with a scarf, and a beret (beret when it gets colder).

I love a man who wears a trench coat... The look is very confident look, a chic, sexy look without trying too hard. The slimmer cut is in line with today's fashion. Your trench fits your fashion look perfectly.

Even Burberry has made slim cut versions. You can read this short article and look at the photos of the men wearing the similar belted style as you... fits just like yours. The 11 Best Trench Coats for Men in 2021 | The Manual

The trench looks great on you! Perfect on you in every way, sleeves down, sleeves up, scarf, no scarf.

A trench coat is a men’s garment. Coming from the military, worn by men since ages and only later adopted by women…

I see nothing at all that is particularly feminine in a classic trench coat. Nowadays it is a perfectly genderless garment.

As @misstrine85 says, I live in Europe and you see lots of men wearing trench coats, both the ones with lapels and the Pimlico type, it is so normal. Perhaps men tend to be more utilitarian about it, as in wearing a trench coat when it’s rainy weather rather than as a fashion statement. But otherwise, nothing odd about it.

You look great in yours.

Well said @BigAkoya !

Hey everyone thank you so much for all your answers, advices and compliments. It really means a lot and I appreciate it  a trench coat is definitely a timeless and such a beautiful items but attract also a lot of attention as people will notice you more than if you would be wearing a more classical / day to day coat.

However I am soliciting you again because tomorrow is the day where I will finally start my trench coat season and wear it as the weather wwill be rainy and temperatures are going down.

I am going to a weekend wedding and thought that could be the moment to get my trench coat out of the closet after a long and warm summer.

Nevertheless someone from my family said the outfit would look a bit too strict with the trench. While I thought it would be nice.

I tried to wear it with a more casual look rather than too formal (as in the other pictures I shared) just to see how good it would look. I like it. I like the combo between blue and beige. But perhaps it would be a little bit too strict too formal ??

I shared with you some pictures about some how I would like to wear it. Still I don't know if I will keep the shirt inside the Jean's or outside

Pictures are just the outfit I would wear tomorrow while going to the airport. For the wedding on Saturday I will obviously wear a nice suit.

All I have to say is you look like you own the room! It is an expression that in this context means...
"you command attention, you reflect confidence, you are wow"
I say that in the most complimentary way.
My motto I say to myself and my husband... just because everyone dresses like slobs does not mean we should!

You look amazing, fashionable, yet not like you are trying too hard. It's perfect for a fall day walking through the airport.. how chic!
And by the way, the trench coat fits you perfect!
