I'm surprised, too, that Coach is releasing these styles under the Poppy label, like the New Willis. First they put Legacy stripes in Poppy bags, now they release these (very conservative, compared to some Poppy) bags as Poppy! I guess when I think of Poppy I think of a different look and feel than these gorgeous instant-classic styles.

There is nothing about the 70th anniversary on the creed or the hang tags. You know something interesting, though? Maybe it's a different size or a sort of pilot version?

When it first arrived, I actually did not care for the lining with the leather...I just thought the two colors did not look right together. But when I took it out today for pics, I changed my mind...it's really very pretty. The lining is the same color as the lining in the Madison Crimson Patent bags.The leather is nice. I would say is is a medium weight/thickness. I used to have a Legacy Thompson Top Handle in a similar color (I think it might have been called natural, too). This leather sort of reminds me of that, but thinner.

Do you think this leather will darken over time? I am assuming it will because it is Vachetta leather, isn't it?.....

I love it, too!When I first saw pics of this bag, I thought it was vachetta, too, but it isn't. I am not sure if the leather will darken over time. The leather does not feel as if it has any sort of glaze or finish on it, so I would think it would. I will probably use some leather conditioner on it, which I think might darken it a little (I say probably, because I tend to forget to condition my bags...I mostly do it when the leather is crying out for it).
I didn't mention it in my response to toby11, because I didn't think of it at the time, but the look of the leather (not the feel of it) sort of reminds me of the burnished leather on the Bleecker bags.
