Toy LouLou: Would you consider this uneven/warped?

Hi hi! The replacement was just delivered. Unfortunately, I’m torn and might just return both. Maybe the Toy Loulou is just not for someone as picky as me, but then with the next round of price increases, maybe I should just pick one and stop hemming and hawing? I really wanted a “carefree” and versatile non-chain bag for when I run errands and only carry the minimum.

The replacement’s shape (pic#1 &2) and interior pockets (pic #4) are better than the original. But it is a little smaller (pic #3) and has a four vertical-ish creases - 2 on the front (pic #5) and 2 on the back (wasn’t able to capture well). The creases don’t bother me tooo much as I think the calfskin (non-pebbled) used in the Loulou line is prone to creasing in general (tell me if I’m wrong). But when comparing to a lot of Toy Loulous in this forum and countless YouTube reviews I watched, they all seem flawless.

I wouldn’t worry about the sticker but I do see the creasing. What a headache! I’m sorry that you are going through this. IMHO, when paying retail, it should be flawless and a luxurious experience. Are you able to purchase in store and inspect it there? It’s a great little bag and it will crease a tiny bit overtime but nothing crazy. I got mine on the preloved market with black hardware and I think I might have a minor crease but I’d have to go back and look. If I can snap pics later on, I will. How do you like the style and fit on you? Does it fit your essentials the way you would like it too? If it checks all of the boxes but you keep getting a flawed bag, I would exchange again or purchase in person.

I just wanted to say I love your Marcie collection in the background! I personally don’t think the Marcie would be the best style for me but have admired it from afar on many for many years!

It’s truly an almost classic bag from Chloe in my eyes that has been here for 10+ years. Chloe does make some of the best neutrals especially those nut and light grey colors.

I prefer the original, and I didn’t see much of an issue with it. It’s been my experience only that replacement bags are usually worse. However, I avoid returning by only buying bags that I have seen personally IRL. I do understand that this option is not always possible, and I hope you will come to a happy outcome

I am not quite sure. I typically see blue stickers on YSL hardware, at least on bags that I have looked at including your mini. Let us know if you decide to keep. I think it is worth having especially with the price increase around the corner. Wish they would just halt with those for a little while.

I wish they would halt it too! I heard the last one was during the holidays in 2022! That’s crazy the next one is literally days away

And yes, I love the style and it fits perfectly, love the weight and that it’s not a chain bag (I have too many chain bags that are so heavy), love the size as it does fit my everyday essentials: my phone, car fob and house key, LV pocket organizer, lip balm, compact, and AirPods. I love that it’s not too small, feels fairly secure for not being a camera bag, and that I can wear it to the grocery store as well as out to a nice dinner.

Where did you get your pre-loved? I’ve been looking at FP, but their prices are close to retail for not being new! It kind of boggles my mind a bit.

All my Chloe bags are very nearly a decade old, haha (the mini satchel being closer to 15!!) and I have not babied them AT ALL. There are no scratches or marks of any kind, no peeling of the glazing whatsoever. It’s pretty dang amazing how their leather and trim have held up (as opposed to LV)! I’ll be honest though, I haven’t worn them at all since 2020 and have been meaning to sell the black hobo - I don’t like the limitations of just a shoulder bag as I prefer crossbody styles.

Thank you for your help!! You’re so right about seeing a bag in person. The LV CAs aren’t my biggest fan haha, because I have literally stood at the counter examining two of the same pieces before making a decision. I am someone who tries to maximize Rakuten cash back to the fullest extent though, so if I can get a deal, but it’s online only, I tend to go with that. Next time for sure need to go in person and maybe just suck it up and pay full retail … but not sure there will be a next time with this next round of price increases

Oh it sounds like the perfect bag for you! Yes, I have some fun chain straps for it but today I wore it with the leather strap and wow it is so comfy it’s like it’s not even there. Fits me way better than the medium Lou camera bag. I have bought preloved on Poshmark, eBay and tried The Real Real once. My best experiences were in eBay and I had great success on Poshmark until one recently very bad experience. My toy Lou Lou was from Poshmark and the seller was a sweetheart. Poshmark and EBay authenticate for you. I bought my toy Lou Lou for $1200 USD. Photos seem to show the creases but it’s not something I notice much and the price was excellent. She used it for a few date nights. Came with box and dust bag.
