Togo leather?

I saw a bag today that I was told was togo, but it has vertical "veins"? Does this sound right?

Yes. Togo can, but does not necessarily, have veins. Some like it veiny, some don't.

Thanks - how "typical" is it? Bought my friend a bag with the veins and I want to be able to tell her it is normal with togo.

Totally variable, as far as I know. I think there were a lot of veiny bags within the past year; right now it seems to me that there are fewer but that is just my impression.

I have two togo Birkins and they are as veiny as it gets and I love it! I like the texture and depth the veins bring to the leather. I have a Kelly that has very very subtle veins, but it works well with the color which is orange.

I just picked up an L stamp togo birkin that had some veins in it... not too many though. I think 2 faint ones across the front.
