To sole protect or not to sole protect?

Good post! My view is a little different, I agree with the term "protect your investment" but not from the angle of resale as you suggested. I am not the norm when it comes to the term "shoe collection". I have very few pairs so when I "invest" or put a lot of money into an item I want the item to last a very long time, meaning years to come. So protecting a delicate soled shoe as Louboutins is a must for me because the wear to leather bottom shoes is horrible and overtime will ruin to the point where its impossible to be repaired. And take care of the rest of the shoe as you stated. If I can get years of wear out of a shoe while keeping in great condition, yes I have protected my investment and dont need to keep spending thousands of dollars on items that will just pile up or feel the need to sale.
I agree totally but in the technical sense...it’s not an investment because it’s a non durable good.

Right, but that's not what most were referring to reading a lot of these posts and other posts on sole protection. They never stated (at least I didnt see that) "if I sole protect will I double my money or get all of my money back if I sale". You're totally correct in the technical sense.

There is a comment that states Protect your investment and that’s really what I was talking about

Vibram or similar is the way to go for me, for a couple of reasons. I simply cannot walk on some surfaces in my loubs because of how slippery they are. The entry rug at this one restaurant we go to when I’m usually dressed up is just disaster waiting to happen. So after one near embarrassing fall, I’m only going to wear vibramed loubs there.

And since they match the red and preserve the original look of the shoe, that’s the best option. For me it’s not about protecting my investment...I doubt I will resell the shoes but I want them to be something I enjoy wearing. So the less I have to worry about slipping and falling, the better! The other options, tape or screen protector...those just don’t make sense for me personally.

I recently got my first pair of Louboutin heels and I decided to Vibram them for extra protection since I’m so hard on my shoes, but also because I slipped in them and fell the first time I wore them! Several boutiques in town recommended the same shoe salon, so I dropped them off last week to be sole protected. I just got them back and it looks off, almost like it was painted red on the part of the sole that touches the Vibram. I’ve attached some photos, please let me know if you think this is normal! I was expecting a much cleaner looking sole $50.

Yes it could've been a little cleaner and the vibram is a little thick than what I am use to seeing but the red ia a great match.

Thank you fcmilliner2031!! The red Vibram is from Italy, I forgot the name of the company. I guess a thicker Vibram just makes for more comfort! And I’m hoping the red glue/paint is only noticible if you’re looking extra close!
