Is this the B25 that sold on VC? If so, I wouldn’t be worried at all of it being a scam since the bag will be sent to VC, and the sale is finalized once they authenticate it. The buyer has already been charged the price. Also, usernames on VC are automatically generated with numbers unless someone changes it, so that also doesn’t indicate anything.

As for whether or not to sell it, I too would be conflicted, and the decision is a personal one that only you know what is the best decision.

The common method they do is they will claim the bag is fake / damaged / lost / never received and VC may very well side with the “buyer”. Then it becomes a case of he said she said. The scammer may also be using a fake name and address with VC. Googling will give you some example stories!

From my experience of buying items of similar value on VC and selling cheaper items is that if package is stolen or never received, then VC refunds buyer and pays seller and deals with carrier and insurance. Now, if a buyer thinks it is fake, not as described, or damaged, the bag has to be sent back to VC to reassess. Also, items of this value are processed much differently with a different team. The fake name and address would easily be spotted if it doesn’t match the card.

There are ways around the credit card thing. I know a friend who got a credit card for his cat as an authorized user…then of course there are less legal ways…stolen credit cards…

In the end I think this will be about OP’s risk tolerance level. With multiple countries involved (from what I read?) and this being an exotics bag, just feels like even more things can go wrong.

Good luck deciding!

After a long discussion with my mom and my partner, I have decided to choose to keep it.

Please no guilt tripping about the buyer being disappointed, I can empathize and do already feel guilty. When I posted the bag, I was certain no one was going to buy it but thought I’d take advantage of the low commission they offered in case I would need the money some day (I was in sleep deprived state with a newborn). It is easier to lower the price than raise it, after all.

My experience with VC has been quite patchy, and I have once received a fake Kelly with a seemingly real receipt.

I think you have made the right decision. The bag was given to you by your mom & there is
sentimental value somewhere. If you are not in need of the money at this time & in spite of not
using it or being drawn to using it, I would hold on to it.. Things change often in life &
hindsight is 20/20
What I would do is have the bag authenticated by Bababebi for your own piece of mind & if & when
the time comes to sell it, there will be no concerns about authenticity. You may decide to
sell it privately. Who knows?
As far as the price of the bag goes, it is your call as to what you want to list it for no matter how
outrageous the price may be. I've seen many bags go at auction for ridiculous prices. There are
buyers who will pay it, in spite of our many opinions.
