As far as I know, most stores have fitting rooms open now. Wonder why this company is being so over-cautious. Frustrating to me because I'd like to shop for jeans. Most of the time they don't have what I want but sometimes you can find something great. I'm not even going to bother going in there until the fitting rooms are re-opened. they have to be losing business.

Are you comfortable trying clothes right now?
Between the dirty people and the virus...

You don’t know who was there before you. Nope.
Plus the workers are being exposed for no good reason...
Buy and return
we'll have to agree to disagree on this one lilmom.....I have to try on many pair of jeans to maybe get one pair that fits....they would have to be really special for me to buy without trying on

As an employee of Marshall's I can tell you the main reason the dressing rooms have not yet opened is protection of the employees...there's no good way to keep employees 6 feet from customers and asking employees to be continuously exposed is something the corporation does not want to do at this time. Talk is they'll reopen for back to school time.

well the TJM near me is busy so I guess it's not hurting them much but I don't like buying stuff w/o trying on. I did buy a top recently but had to return it
thanks for responding

right....and I don't reallly see whre the dressing room attendants are at any more risk than the cashiers
Think about it. The cashiers are in a much larger space.
A cabin would be a 4X4 space. The risks are not at all comparable.
Now, they could do trying space like old sample sales in NYC. Huge room with everyone in one space.
Would you be game?
Do they even have an attendant at your store?
Did you try to speak with management to see what the issue is?

I do agree with you. Many fitting rooms are closed in my area although some are open like Nordstrom rack. The stores with open dressing rooms seem to be way more busy. Given the cdc info on not getting the virus from objects, and the info we now know about how it’s contracted, I think it’s pure lazy, not wanting to pay more employees and fear of somehow being sued. At this point, they should be open. Many people in my state are already vaccinated. If some stores are open and doing fine, no reason why others can’t. I have a strip mall near me where off fifth has closed dressing rooms and is pretty empty all the time. 2 doors down is Nordstrom rack with open dressing rooms and it seems to be doing fine. I’m afraid this is going to become the “norm” in an effort by retail companies to keep costs down. Yet I’m gonna guess based on talking with others and what I see, those with closed dressing rooms have decreasing profit. Horrible way to shop.

Saks is empty next to me because of the price point. It is packed during the sales.
The off Saks is horrible. Their merchandise was never at the regular saks. And if it was, it was 5 years ago.
The Marshall and TJMaxx are empty because their merchandises are marginal ( to be kind).
Nordstrom racks are doing ok but it is often more expensive than the regular Nordstrom’s.
I shop on Long Island.

My Bloomingdales is also empty as dressing rooms not opened. The people I know do not want to go to a store shopping for clothes and not be able to try on. I don’t want to shop that way. If I have a choice, I’ll pick the store where I can try on and that’s what I’m doing. I believe the stores with closed dressing rooms are making a mistake. With my off fifth 2 doors down from the rack, both with similar price points, both should be close to the same as busy. They aren’t. And I have 2 runway tj maxx stores near me that used to be more busy. I won’t shop there as I can’t try on. I really hope this doesn’t become the normal way to shop. Not pleasant.

I never thought about it this way.
My Bloomies opened its fitting rooms a long time ago.
I think that for some discounters, it might become the norm.:flowers:
