The last one, it's drop dead gorgeous!I’m resetting my original diamonds from my engagement/ wedding ring for my 35th wedding anniversary. I want to use my original stones for sentimental reasons. Which ring style below would you choose?
Thank you! The last option is the ring on My Hand. I was meeting with the jeweler. I definitely had these styles in mind, and when I tried on Option #3, it just felt “ right”. My original diamond is set in yellow gold, but I’m going with Platinum for this ring.Congratulations on such a milestone anniversary!
What does your original ring look like?!
Before doing your reset, I’d try on some rings of a similar width to the ones you’re considering. If you’re going from a skinnier, more traditional engagement ring band to something wider, you should definitely see how it feels. I know personally, that the closer a ring is to my knuckle, the less comfortable it is for me.
That being said, I like the last option best!
Good luck with your reset! Let us know what you decide!

Thank you! And thanks for your input, it’s appreciated! The platinum looks great with your skin tone, and the ring really is gorgeous!
It’s substantial enough to wear on its own, but also looks beautiful with the eternity band!
Thank you!Another vote for option #3! Looks great with the wedding band, too!

Thank you very much for this thoughtful, insightful response! These are all questions I’ve pondered as well. I am using the stone from my original engagement ring in the new ring. My original stone is special to me, and the sentimental value means a lot to me. The first option would be a stand alone that I wouldI like all of them. I think the main question to ask is about usage.
So the questions I would ask are:
-Do you have another engagement ring you currently wear (an upgrade) or would this be your new engagement ring?
-Do you want to wear it alone or with another piece?
The first choice seems like a stand alone band to me, rather than something you would wear with another ring. It would make a fab engagement eternity ring if you are trying to sub that in for a solitaire now. Not a thing wrong with that. We spend a lot of time thinking about the "e-ring" but some people prefer a band look. An eternity containing your original stone would be lovely for this sentiment.
(Note- I adore halos and they have been around centuries in one shape or another. They aren't going anywhere. They may wax and wane in popularity, just as any other style would, but there's no sin in liking them.)
So with that said, I love both the second and third rings too. The second one seems more standalone, and the third seems like it could stand alone or be paired with a band as you did in the pic. I also think one of the key's to making halo's look like timeless luxury is in the workmanship. It's not overly hard to make a simple solitaire setting look lux, but a halo is another ball of wax all together.
Now just ask yourself what the end use is going to be and whether it is replacing your current e-ring, or in addition to it and that might give you a better idea where to go.
