The mailman delivered my pre-ordered Tilton in the color navy. I'm BEYOND pleased with my birthday unicorn bag. This is what I expected(to feel) with the first Tilton in chestnut, and didn't get. This unboxing was everything I hoped it would be... I exhale.
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Navy is sooooooooo beautiful, it is dark yet you can see that it is blue. I love the way the red zipper just pops. I think navy is my favorite color in Florentine followed by the chestnut. I really like brown Tmoro, but it's not offered as much now as it was back in the day.

I am really glad they brought back the Tilton. Has anyone ever seen this bag at the outlet back in the day? With the Labor Day sale and coupon, this bag was half off the regular price and way less than the second hand market. I see a couple listings $300+ for a used bag. I know that I will have this bag for years to come while traveling and I feel it is a worthy investment in a beautiful quality bag.

Receiving this NEW Tilton, the condition of this bag, was like night and day compared to the chestnut. I'm glad I decided to re-pre-order this bag in navy. I was very happy that the straps were wrapped and no signs of removal. The sides are slightly textured, but not a whole different pebbled animal like the chestnut Tilton was.

I'm excited to be able to travel with it, and use it as my personal carryon on flights and cruises. I'm wondering how much I can pack into it and how it will carry. How heavy it will be and how it will hang when packed. I like that my laptop fits inside this bag even when in it's sleeve. Because the Tilton is north/south, I will definitely have to use some pouch organization. The double zip wristlet I got during my birthday haul at the outlet, is gonna work really well in this bag in addition to the ivy foldover crossbody.

Enjoy your navy Tilton.

Navy really does go with so many other colors and can be very neutral...
if we expand our color sense. And these days, various tones/shades
of the same color are fashionable. Colors don't have to be exact matches
anymore. (The fashion police are no longer worried about this. And
designers are all in favor of outfits made up of tones/shades of the same color).
Outfits consisting of multiple shades/tones of blue are beautiful.

Navy and black, together are now considered very sophisticated.
Back in time, a navy handbag with black outfit was not at all stylish.
Of course, navy works will all shades of blue, turquoise, teal, and green,
red, pinks, purples too. Navy is great with whites, beiges, and yellows.
Navy and orange is is a classic combo of complementary colors on the color wheel.
Navy can easily work with lighter and midtone greys. Navy works with
all metallics.

So what's left..... only brown.... and depending upon the shade, navy
would work with warmer lighter browns like caramels and tans and naturals.
It might even work with taupe.

When color pairing I try to make the combinations look intentional
and avoid the rainbow by not mixing too many colors or too many
neutrals. That way I feel put together, no matter what color combo
I choose. And the most important part of putting together an outfit
is to make you feel good.

Any one else have any favorite navy handbag color combos?

LJ I really like the idea of the navy and orange, very pretty. I’m gonna have to get a few more orange/ rust pieces in my wardrobe. I need more red/burgundy also. Ive mostly blacks, greys, blues, creams, aquas, olives, and yellows/ golds. My favorite color is yellow, always a happy color to brighten a dreary day.
I don’t wear much brown probably because I’m brown lol. I will definitely look at what I have and see how the combinations look. I definitely don’t want to be all rainbow brite.

I have been wearing a uniform to work for 25 years. I am slowly building up my wardrobe since retirement is coming and I want to dress fashionably chic. I dont know about you but pandemic weight gain was real. On top of the pre-menopausal weight gain in the worst places has really got me looking in my closet like what to wear??? What to wear??? I am eying a new few skirts. I just got a few pretty dresses. I love then fall where I can wear my longer shirts with my heeled boots or booties. When the snow and ice hits the uggs with ice cleats come out. It’s gonna be nice to put my shoes, in crown royal bags, and slip them inside my purse. That is just another reason I prefer the larger Dooneys, it fits so much. My hat and scarf along with my shoes can slide inside with everything else no problems.

I wonder how split-color combinations on the color wheel might work with navy.
Sometimes I think the three color rule in fashion is a good one for looking put together.
Having said that, I am not a good fashion advisor.
Congratulations on your bag. It's a beauty.

Think of it this way.... a few extra pounds during the pandemic is much better than
most of the other alternatives. Most people I know, regardless of age, gained
weight. And, as you age, everything seems to settle around the middle of the body.
My fingers and wrists are smaller, but the area between my waist and knees
has 'absorbed' all that I lost in my hands, face, neck. Oh well, maybe if I carry
a really great handbag it will be a good distraction.

Now that your birthday is over for this year, you can enjoy all your new treasures
and focus on what you want to accomplish over the next year. Remember indulging
in new clothing. and shoes and handbags and jewelry will not result in weight gain. Sounds like a great reward system and way to motivate ourselves. I'll have to
remember that next time I reach for something to stuff into my mouth!
(A frequent activity).
I will have to look at budgeting food like budgeting money.... keeping things in
balance and substituting handbags and jewelry for other more temporary treats.
I won't be denying myself, just choosing alternative treats....Florentine leather
handbag vs. potato chips???? New earrings vs. chocolate????

Oh, I hear you about lockdown weight gain. Ten pounds here. I thought eating M&M's would be a good way to pass the time. I'm off sugar, refined carbs and processed food. Also, eating just 6 hours a day by doing time restricted eating.
I'm determined! My husband lost 42 pounds in the last 6 months, my neighbor (newly widowed) lost 32 and I don't want to miss the healthy bandwagon.
Besides, we all want to look cute carrying our D&B bags.

I've lost (and regained) the same 10 lbs at least 6 times. Does that count?

For some of reason , it seems that men lose weight faster and easier to me. My hubby retired in March. Since he has stayed home, I cook more as opposed to stopping on the way to work and grabbing some Popeyes, or portillos, or Panda Express. I’m baking and air frying in the oven. He told me that his gut feels like it’s gone down and that his pants were more loose. He says it because I cook more than we eat out.

It feels good that he noticed that about himself. Yet when the monthly bloating comes, ugh I’m frustrated with my waist. Oh don’t get me wrong I have lost a few pounds, but that pms bloat is a monster. Nothing I can really do about that. I buy more salads and fresh fruit and veggies to snack on. I’m enjoying string cheese instead of chips. I’m drinking water and I NEVER used to do that.
