LJ I really like the idea of the navy and orange, very pretty. I’m gonna have to get a few more orange/ rust pieces in my wardrobe. I need more red/burgundy also. Ive mostly blacks, greys, blues, creams, aquas, olives, and yellows/ golds. My favorite color is yellow, always a happy color to brighten a dreary day.
I don’t wear much brown probably because I’m brown lol. I will definitely look at what I have and see how the combinations look. I definitely don’t want to be all rainbow brite.
I have been wearing a uniform to work for 25 years. I am slowly building up my wardrobe since retirement is coming and I want to dress fashionably chic. I dont know about you but pandemic weight gain was real. On top of the pre-menopausal weight gain in the worst places has really got me looking in my closet like what to wear??? What to wear??? I am eying a new few skirts. I just got a few pretty dresses. I love then fall where I can wear my longer shirts with my heeled boots or booties. When the snow and ice hits the uggs with ice cleats come out. It’s gonna be nice to put my shoes, in crown royal bags, and slip them inside my purse. That is just another reason I prefer the larger Dooneys, it fits so much. My hat and scarf along with my shoes can slide inside with everything else no problems.
Think of it this way.... a few extra pounds during the pandemic is much better than
most of the other alternatives. Most people I know, regardless of age, gained
weight. And, as you age, everything seems to settle around the middle of the body.
My fingers and wrists are smaller, but the area between my waist and knees
has 'absorbed' all that I lost in my hands, face, neck. Oh well, maybe if I carry
a really great handbag it will be a good distraction.
Now that your birthday is over for this year, you can enjoy all your new treasures
and focus on what you want to accomplish over the next year. Remember indulging
in new clothing. and shoes and handbags and jewelry will not result in weight gain. Sounds like a great reward system and way to motivate ourselves. I'll have to
remember that next time I reach for something to stuff into my mouth!
(A frequent activity).
I will have to look at budgeting food like budgeting money.... keeping things in
balance and substituting handbags and jewelry for other more temporary treats.
I won't be denying myself, just choosing alternative treats....Florentine leather
handbag vs. potato chips???? New earrings vs. chocolate????
