Very well said! Personally, I am a very private person and would feel very awkward sharing an important moment like a proposal in front of a crowd of strangers. My preference would be for something intimate like a proposal in Central Park, which is so beautiful. But, it really depends on your girlfriend's personality- some girls would really enjoy the public proposal. If you're really not sure what she would like, my advice would be to take the safe route and propose in Central Park. I don't think anyone would be unhappy with that proposal- sit down with her in a beautiful spot and tell her how you feel, you can't go wrong.

I totally agree with this post. She's already going to be emotional when you see her, and might be overwhelmed with a right the second you are reunited airport proposal. Unless she is of a personality that likes attention.

I would prefer the first scenario by leaps and bounds.

The Central Park idea sounds nice, but what if the weather is not good? I think you should have a back up plan. I suggest a nice restaurant. The most proposed at restaurant in NYC is One If By Land, Two if by Sea. Tell them ahead of time what you want to propose there and they will give you a special table--actually all the tables are very nice. It's such a romantic restaurant!
