Tiffany's DBTY: Layering ideas?

Same here. I was all excited about DBTY when I first got it, and I have been wearing it as itself. But I have gotten a bit tired of it. Plus, mine is in rose gold, so I wanted to have some cool color for the summer. When I first looked for something to layer with DBTY, YG diamond key charm was exactly the one that I was recommended. I think it looked so gorgeous. I also thought about getting the bean. But my SA convinced me to get something that shows my skin under the metal work. Do you have the bean in silver by any chance? I'd love to see how they look together.

Oh I bet yours looks lovely in rose gold! I don't have the bean in silver unfortunately - have been thinking about getting it either in YG or RG although the price of the silver one is tempting.

Isn't it? Do you also like to layer? :)

I do. I think it's a great way to update a more understated look. I have a bezel set (not Tiffany) pendant that I like to later with my Tiffany keys. I also have layered a SS bean with a longer oval link chain and key. Your pics are gorgeous. That .17 looks HUGE on you.

I have the Tiffany "sprinkles" necklace...It is diamonds by the yard but very long with around 15 diamonds (different sizes) randomly "sprinkled" along the length. I have worn it layered or even doubled before.... So far, I have never seen anybody else mention this necklace.

Would love to see a pic of that one. I saw it in online but would love to see it on someone. It looked beautiful.

Thanks! Yeah, I think .17 turned out quite voluminous. RG seems to have a thicker bazel.

Please please show us the picture!

I know this is off topic but I want to ask a question here because I know that the ladies here have DBTY. I really liked Tiffany's DBTY in RG, so I wanted to have one in YG. Unfortunately, Tiffany's DBTY with 0.30 carat stone was way out of my budget, so I ordered one from Brian Gavin. Overall, I liked the product but I think I was expecting a larger stone, when compared to my .17 stone. Do you think it looks small for 0.32 stone, or is it an illusion of the bazel? (The one with thick bazel is from Tiffany, and the other one is from Brian Gavin.)

I think the Tiffany DBTY diamonds are cut really wide - they always seem to face up bigger than diamonds of a comparable carat weight.

That^^. I agree. Throw in the bezel and that makes them even closer. Frustrating, when you were expecting a size difference I'm sure. But they do look nice together.

That's the trade off of getting things online! I'd like to compare this with Tiffany's .33 carat... or not...

I am not sure if I will wear them together. They are very different - the one by Brian Gavin feels much lighter and airy, so I think I wear this more during summer.

Love these layering ideas!! I am wanting to get the DBTY Silver/Aquamarine necklace and layer it with one my other Tiffany necklaces, but I was unsure of which ones to try it with... I really like the open heart necklace with the DBTY though! (Just would have to get one of those too, LOL!!)

I think it does look a little small for a 0.32 stone even when you account for the thickness of the RG bezel. Tiffany's does seem to have wider cut diamonds in their dbty but it would bother me to not have my diamond face up as well. During my search for an alternative to the Tiffany dbty I came across this thread http://forum.purseblog.com/the-jewelry-box/brian-gavin-dbty-arrived-pics-658084-3.html
She noticed the same thing as you with her BG DBTY. It still looks beautiful and the bezel work is amazing for not being at the Tiffany price point. So if you're happy with it then I guess the size shouldn't matter.

Thanks. I read the posts in the thread. I mean I like how it looks but it just wasn't what I expected. It says it's a final sale because they are customized. So, I'm assuming that I can't return it. Beautiful but I'm just not completely thrilled.

That's exactly what I had in mind. I love it on the website but haven't seen it IRL. I don't know what's stopping me from going into a tiffany store. But when you get your DBTY please do post pictures, I am dying to see this key layered with a DBTY. Oh and congrats on this fabulous purchase:smile1:

Have you considered a Tiffany key pendant? Something simple like the samll oval key in YG or RG. I recently bought the YG oval key and and am looking for a dbyt to go with it
