wish i came to this thread earlier, just bought the large silver polishing cloth for $10 last week. never got any free even though i've purchased the RTT heart tag necklace last year and the beaded bracelet with the blue heart this trip.

Got mine from Tiffany's at around $8++ only. I like it because I don't have to put on some liquid polish. I clean my silver jewelry after using and before storage or before wearing the same :) Yes, it works miracles! It removes the tarnish and makes it sparkle anew. I love it. :)

I stopped into my local Tiffany store for the first time yesterday. It was to bring in a necklace for repair, and I was asking all these questions about caring for my sterling silver jewelry, and the next thing I know, the SA was pulling out a new Tiffany pouch, a polishing cloth, and a big bottle of their sterling silver polishing cream... I was only prepared to drop off jewelry, and didn't have money on me (it was a quick stop) and I remember thinking "oh, goodness, how do I tell her I can't pay for these items?"
And then she placed them all in a bag and said I was good to go! She just gave me the stuff for free! They really have customer service down there :smile1:

I prefer their mitts to the polishing cloths. You just slip a mitt on and rub the item in your kitted hand. I never use the cream. I use the method below.

I mix ammonia with water in a small bowl and let a silver piece sit in it for awhile. NOTHING with stones goes in....just silver. When I rinse it off, its prefect. I learned this from a friend who owns a dental lab. He used to clean pieces for me in a sonic machine in the lab and told me how to do this at home. I mix the ammonia to water at a ratio of about 1 part ammonia to 2 parts water. I put in one piece and make sure that all of it is getting exposed to the mixture while it sits for about 20 minutes. Then I just rinse it off under running water and dry. It's comes out like new. I have a large collection of Elsa Peretti silver pieces, so I do this often.....but remember, only metal....no stones.
