Tiffany Repair Charges too high?

I just wanted to update the thread. No one ever called me back (it has been 2 days), so this morning I called. Without getting into too many details, there was no note in my account about a supervisor calling me back. The person I spoke with today was actually helpful (not repeating the same response over and over). She was able to look up when it was purchased, etc. She said normally it is only complimentary for 90 days after purchase and she explained the policies for me more thoroughly. I feel much better about things and this is the kind of service I have come to expect from Tiffany.

I guess this just shows it all depends on who you talk to, and while I wish everyone was the same, I guess you just have to call back to get someone who will help you! Thanks to everyone in this thread for the advice.
I'm glad you finally found someone to give you proper answers to your questions.
I learned the hard way too. I had bought a platinum dbty and wanted to have it lengthened only to learn to service is complimentary only 90 days after purchase. I paid for it, only to realize it's too long and size it back lol.

now I stick with my regular SA because she is able to get me this complimentary services even if it's over a certain time period:smile1:

Yeah, the inconsistency bothers me quite a bit as well. I was able to ADD length to my platinum chain for free at my local store, but when I was on vacation in Vegas and bought a DBTY yg necklace that was nearly 3x the price of my pt necklace, and wanted to add some length to it, they wanted to charge me extra. When I told the SA that my store would do it for free, they told me to get it done back at home. I was pretty upset and ended up returning the dbty necklace later (though I think we could've done it at the Vegas store because DF and I spent over a certain amount for my e-ring where all cleanings, repairs, etc. are waived)

This is one of the main causes I ended up going to Cartier and VCA for my most recent jewelry purchases. However, their constant price increases may drive me back to Tiffany because their prices are so much more reasonable now in comparison.
