It sounds like you really love these rings. Why not get yourself one as a treat? My parents bought me a diamond ring when I was sixteen (a tiny stone, pretty setting, but not my style). I hated it and never wore it because it looked like a tiny engagement ring and it only fit that finger and it wasn't my style.

So, your DD may not want one, or she may want one but not the one you want.

Since you are really into them right now, I'd say buy it and wear it for yourself as a post-baby-childraising present!

Saligator - You make a brilliant point! And I love your idea. Maybe I've been waiting for someone to say that! I should just buy a present for me. I have many other rings that DD can have her pick. And if she wants the new Tiffany one (to be purchased in 6 mths!) then someday that will be hers too.

Maybe treat yourself to the Tiffany ring and down the line give it to your daughter. That way someone will be wearing it instead of being forgot about in a drawer.

I think it's alovely idea - but I'm not sure if I would have appreciated that present when I was 13. When I graduated HS though they got me the little Tiffany Victoria platinum/diamond ring - it was very small and dainty but I loved it and wore it everyday for years. I never was in danger of losing it cause I never took it off.
