Not sure if this applies in all Tiffany stores but I have heard that when you are buying a necklace, you can ASK for a 18 inch necklace instead, no charge. As long as it's not one that is connected to the chain, but can come off. They don't volunteer that to you of course. I found out from a friend and tried when I got my last piece Previous to that, I had all 16 inch, never thought to ask and back then I was thinner! ha! So, had many 16 inchers lenthened and had to pay! gah! Just thought I'd pass along for the future if it helps
