Tiffany legacy-Sapphire or Aquamarine?

I've recently become familiar with the Tiffany Legacy rings - thanks to TPF. I'm thinking of putting on my wishlist. Perhaps for Valentines Day! Do you think sapphire (my birthstone) or the aquamarine is prettier? I think the sapphire is a little more expensive. I called Tiffanys yesterday and all of the ring stones come in different sizes which obviously affects the price.

What kind of blue do you prefer? Is this an engagement ring? The aqua is a very pretty stone....hard choice!!!

No - not an engagrment ring. I'm leaning towards aquamarine. Just curious if anyone on TPF has the sapphire one.

i tried them both in the shop and preferred the aqua one, but then again - i like aquamarines better than saphs.

Clanalois has a gorgeous aquamarine one. I think I'd choose that one over the sapphire given the choice.

Does anyone know if there is a size aquamarine for under $8,000? I'm sure Tiffany's will be mobbed tomorrow and they will probably be to busy to help me over the phone.

I've not seen this particular ring in sapphire, but I prefer sapphire (provided it is a nice pretty blue and not too dark) over aqua.

I love the aquamarine legacy.
I personally don't like the blue sapphire version, though I do think the blue tanzanite is really pretty (and good alternative for the sapphire).

Do most wear as engagement ring? I already have an e-ring and just thought this would be a change to mix-up a little bit! It costs almost as much as my e-ring though!

I like both, aqua is my b-stone, sapphire was my moms...... I LOVE the aqua in this particular ring though, they are the most beautiful aqua's in comparison to the pale ones you see at any ordinary jewelry store plus I feel the aquamarine shows off the beautiful cut used in this ring a little better than the sapphire.

If you plan to wear this every day I say Sapphire. It's far more durable.

I was wondering about durability. Is the aquamarine as fragile as a blue topaz? I do not plan on wearing everyday. I would probably alternate with my engagement ring.
