I was a little disheartened when I popped into the local Tiffany and saw they'd left tags on the pearl pieces that said Made in China. Nothing against China but it got me wondering and it turned me off this collection.

I have no issue with things made in China. I do think that T&C is going to charge quite a premium for some basic freshwater pearls that unbranded can be had for 70-80% less. If you've ever visited Southern China or HK you'll see they have some fabulous pearls at great prices.....anyway, this is not new for T&C, do you remember their short-lived sister company that only sold pearls? (I believe they were all from China.) can't remember what the name was??? Irridesse or something?

I saw the pieces and quite like it.
Tiffany definitely charge more than other companies, but not significantly more.
I like every single piece from collection. Even the ring I so much like better in person when in the ad. Their 80 inch FWP necklace is around $1000. 52 inch PP necklace is $410. It is higher, but not that higher. I looked at Tiffany's crimps and clips and fasteners and they are much much better quality when any regular jewelry items from stores (or typical 20 dollars gold clasp). I am so madly in love with the silver locker! Just way too excited!

urghhhh!!!! That's not helping!!! Just one! I have to decide on only one especially if I want to get the pearl and onxy ring too!!!

Am also dying too see this one...but my store only has the pearl necklaces...apparently the onxy stuff are coming later in the month, closer to May...perhaps in time for the movie premiere????



I too was thinking if purchasing these pearl necklaces were way too expensive considering they were fresh water pearls...didnt know they were made in China...but I did compare the prices to the Chanel necklaces that are made of glass...locally the glass pearls costs $500+ more than the Tiffany fresh water pearls...and the last time I checked the price of the glass pearls was about 4 years ago...so its a defintely higher price difference now...


Has anyone seen the coral earrings?? I believe there's also suppose to be some items made of coral??? my SA doesnt have a clue about the coral items...said there's only pearl / onxy / silver for this collection...

ah crap just noticed there's more pearl necklacess available on the website...was previous considering this 87' pearl necklace
versus the tassel necklace. but now i see there's this pearl necklace with regular sized pearls...

I don't know what is wrong with China and Tiffany, but most FWP are made in China anyway. Tiffany pearls are more uniform and consistent with quality advertised.
I do like clasps and crimps so much better than any other item I saw, unless it was special order.
I love this onyx ring. I did like it so much more in person when I did online.

Does anyone have the May issue of USA Vogue??? Carrie Mulligan is on the cover...not too sure if the jewellery for the photo shoot is all Tiffany but the Pearl Tassel Necklace is the second last photo in this blog post.


Tiffany has updated their website with a 'Jazz Age Glamour' collection comprising the Zegfield Collection. There's also a video regarding Tiffany's jewellery movie collaboration.
