Hello all -

I'm in the market for a Rose Gold Tiffany necklace as an every day piece. I'm eyeing a few but I've noticed in my research an interesting tid-bit. I've read feedback that the "fixed" design necklaces don't move as freely on the neck as something with a charm or moving part.

So my question is - what is your experience with a fixed or attached design necklace (such as the T Smile or Paloma Picasso Love) vs a charm or floating design (such as the Elsa Peretti Bean or Paloma Picasso Open Heart). Do you notice the fixed designs "stick" more and/or is it a real issue? Or does the movement of the charm style annoy in any way?

For what it's worth, I'm relocating to Texas from New England soon and anticipate hot weather year round thus I guess I'm wondering more about movement in a warmer climate. My caveat: I don't do well in heat. I get hot quickly and it takes a bit for me to cool down so I guess I'm being more sensitive than most to feeling like my jewelry is stuck to me. I also don't want to feel like I'm constantly checking the positioning of my necklace.

I'm torn between the T Smile Mini, the Floating Heart (prob 11mm) and the Graffiti Love (prob small). I need to try them on which I'll do next month but I'm wondering about real-world wear more than just looks at this point. Again, I'm looking for something comfortable and easy-breezy every day.

TIA for any and all thoughts! :flowers:

I have a rose gold chain with a rose gold elephant charm from the save the wild collection. I usually layer it with a single stone DBTY necklace. The charm doesn’t move around much. The DBTY is fixed and I find it rotates more often. But I like both together or separate.

I hope this helps and that you find one that you love!

I feel like the fixed pendants (DBTY, T smile, love etc) do move around way more. I'm wearing my DBTY every day and it tends to go off center. I also own the mini RTT and two open hearts and these tend to stay centered way more. The chain itself moves while the charm stays in place.

I think a lot of it depends on the weight of the pendant. I have Tiffany necklaces with both fixed and not fixed pendants, and the heavier pendants tend to stay put better. My everyday necklace is a YG DBTY 0.22 carats and it doesn’t really move around on me. My heavier pendants, like my Tiffany key and my Elsa Peretti bottle pendant, stay perfectly centered all day.

Interesting! Thanks - this is very helpful!

Thanks for this! I do want my necklace to stay mostly centered and I think it would bother me for a daily wear. I think I'm leaning toward something like the open heart as the daily and saving the T Smile for a more occasional wear. I love the diamond T Smile mini anyway so that gives me an excuse to do the open heart now and save the T Smile for Christmas.

I have both fixes and non fixed Tiffany pendants in RG, YG and platinum with semi precious stones and diamonds. I prefer fixed pendants more. Of the ones you are considering, I own a small and a medium open hearts in YG. The hearts flip often and they drive me crazy. The small is a great every piece but only consider that if you can deal with the flipping.

If you ask me to pick the ones you have posted, I would vote for the bean.

Very helpful! Thank you. I'm SO TORN between the bean an open heart. I'll try them both in the next couple weeks. Thanks again :flowers:

I have the floating heart, bean and the love necklaces. I find the Love necklace moves the least! I think it's because it's much shorter than either the heart or bean. I love all 3 and they are my favorite Tiffany necklaces. The bean and heart are both classics!

ACK! Another plot twist. Just when I was leaning toward the bean. I think it's going to come down to trying them on then just going with my gut. Besides, it will always give me an excuse for another down the road

Thanks for this! Very helpful!
