Yes, I just went today - super fun and informative and definitely made me appreciate the hard work that goes behind selecting diamonds that Tiffany chooses to buy.

Just a question for all you girls out there - if you had the choice between a Tiffany Setting diamond ring or Cartier 1895 solitaire ring, which would you choose based purely on brand name? I'm inclined to say Cartier is more prestigious overall, but I know that Tiffany is highly coveted and desired by many, especially younger girls. I'm in the process of choosing a ring for myself and narrowed it down to a Cartier and Tiffany (both on hold for me); I am more inclined towards the Tiffany (larger carat size and higher clarity at a similar price, although lower colour) but the only thing holding me back is the Cartier name. Help please!

I have no special affinity towards either brand and own pieces from both, but for engagement rings I would pick Tiffany. They cut their won diamonds, and overall have higher standards. Unless you really like the design of Cartier, I wouldn't touch their engagement rings (unless you're comfortable examining every stone very carefully to screen out a good one).

There's tools like the idealscope/ASET and HCA calculator which can help you narrow down your choices as well. For a big purchase I would always want to thoroughly research.

If diamond quality is important to you, I would also check out online super-ideal retailers like Crafted By Infinity or Brian Gavin Diamonds.

I agree with @mewt , I’d pick Tiffany for engagement rings if I had to choose between Tiffany and Cartier. But for watches, I’m more inclined to pick Cartier over Tiffany! Each brand has different strengths.
