Tiffany & CO Sparkler Earrings OR…..

What a fun update!

Can I ask what colour your hair/eyes/skin are? I think that the praseolite would look amazing on fair blondes, while the citrine would really glow against darker skin and hair. I'm a (cool) fair brunette and I've been eyeing up the citrine and amethyst myself!

Ultimately, while the praseolite are more practical, it seems like you fell more in love with the citrine, so you would probably find a way to wear these more.

I'm brown eyes and have very dark brown hair (I say very dark because if you just see me I'm sure you would think I have black hair- but if I'm in the sun, you can tell its brown) and my skin is olive (I think thats what I am).

I LOVE the citrine- thats for sure- but it is an orange color and I used to wear orange a lot but don't really wear it anymore, nor own many things to wear it. So its definitely something new. Praseolite is such an easy color that for me- I think it would be the best.

Apologies if I'm hijacking this thread but yesterday I just impulsively got the citrine cocktail ring and the matching necklace from Tiffany, both in yellow gold. I was so keen to get the earrings as well but the only pair with yellow gold was available only in another store. The SA convinced me to get the beads earrings in yellow gold instead which I did.

But I can't stop thinking about the sparklers! I went googling and I discovered bluenile selling very similar looking ones at a fraction of the price and I'm in a dilemma. Particularly Tiffany is very overpriced in my country and the sparklers earrings in yellow gold will cost me equivalent of usd1,430!

Any opinions, ladies?

tingy - Yes, I noticed the Blue Nile ones and the Tiffany sparklers, although beautiful, don't scream "Tiffany" to me, in which case, you might be better off returning and getting the Blue Nile set and putting the difference towards a Tiffany piece that really seems more "Tiffany". I hope that makes sense.

the blue nile ones are not as saturated of stones and the cut is different as well :smile1:

if you are not sensitive to details they could work for you?

I was just googling "green quartz" and found one site that said the color, which is usually the result of heat treating an amethyst, is unstable and fades over time. Is this true?! The tiff green sparkler is my fave.

Thanks emchhardy and Candice...I will not return my Tiffany ring and necklace but I think I will buy the Bluenile earrings . Somehow i always think rings and necklaces are more exposed and hence quality (or the lack of) is more obvious compared to earrings always half hidden in my long hair anyway.

Maybe I can take comparison pics and share here when I receive them!

And a pic of the ring as well while I'm at it. When the earrings from blue nile arrives I will take comparison pics and post!

Just wanted to add my two cents

1) I ended up not buying the Sparklers (yet) for the reason that I've found them to be too heavy. I have quite the small ear lobes and they kinda looked funky- but…

As many have mentioned the design of the Sparklers is not anything that is "classic" or original to Tiffany. BUT I have found that the intricate cut and the stones themselves - nothing comes close to as the clarity or the true shine of a Tiffany stone.

A Tiffany gemstone is cut and made so that it shines and sparkles the most- so if you have the funds and don't have something like the Sparklers in your jewelry collection- I would so go for that instead.

Of course if you've already made the purchase for the Bluenile check it out first and compare but I always think theres something truly special about Tiffany (even though when you shop around to other jewelry store it seems overpriced).

I also wanted to add- I believe if you purchase anything gold from Tiffany you're automatically enrolled for free jewelry cleaning for life :) So thats a nice plus!

I need to take comparison pics properly but honestly the blue Nile ones can't compare to tiffany sparklers. The stone is not as sparkly and the setting doesn't look so good. It is however good enough for daily wear although I certainly won't wear it for nice nights out.

Which is why, I'm seriously contemplating getting the earrings from Tiff too. I may give away my blue Nike pair (luckily the price is decent!!).

And...here's a pic of the ring. It's so gorgeous!
