Did they show you a sample when you purchase it? The catalog one is darkened and I think it's because they wanna make it easier for picture taking.
yours does not have that look maybe it's because it's still shiny new. If it's silver, it will change in color when time pass by.

No, they couldn't show me an exact sample since its hand engraved mine is YG as well... Ill see what they can do

I think it's lovely. Maybe you don't like it because the engraving doesn't take up as much of the front of the piece as the model? Let us know what happens.

I think that's a big part of it... It doesn't ' I know it's hand engraved and so it may vary slightly ... But I kind of feel like mine was done by a newbie! Ill update this post when I go in

Thanks ! I will update for sure. I'm worried they might say there is no guarantee with engraving

Today's update : the SA ( mine wasn't there) agreed it was different . She said they need to speak with their master engraver in NYC and they will get back to me by the end of the week. While engraved items are finale sale she said they definitely want me to be happy with the post .... So I'm hopeful !!!

so i got a call from my SA today. they are going to take it back fill it all in with gold and start over. they are going to do a "Mock" so i can see exactly what it looks like before the re engrave . they ensured me i would not loose any gold on my locket .... so i am happy that we get to try this again!
