^^ more likely the stuff was pre-owned. It was over by the time i saw this link... did it claim to be new or was it estate pieces?

Give the lady a cigar, we have a winner!

The sale was part of their collaboration with circa (circajewels.com). It was in the fine print on the email linking to the sale page. Another thing to notice is that some of the higher priced items were things that Tiffany hasn't made in awhile.

I would be very wary of any time you see Tiffany products that are on sale anywhere outside of their stores or their site especially if it's discounted. Tiffany's business model has been working for them for many years so I don't think they would change it all of a sudden and start selling their products elsewhere.

Tiffany has no control over the secondary market. Someone buys Tiffany jewelry, decides they don't want it, dumps it at circajewels.com, who then sells it through Bluefly...Tiffany doesn't have any control over that. They haven't for more than 150 years.

And as is the case for anything bought on the secondary market, it doesn't come with the manufacturer's authenticity guarantee. It's clearly caveat emptor. Unlike eBay, this situation is much easier on the consumer, as there's a 14 day return policy.

My items arrived yesterday. The receipt clearly states that this was a Tiffany ESTATE JEWELRY event, which is fancy schmancy for USED. Condition is fantastic, and my stuff looks absolutely authentic. I'll be hauling it to a local expert for her opinion later today, just to be sure, though, so I'll be happy to report the developments either way. If I get the thumbs-down on this one, they'll all go back tonight.

I bought my Schlumberger 16 stone ring at an estate store. When I needed the prongs tightened I took it to Tiffany, who did the work graciously and free of charge. So as long as the items are genuine, there really should be no issues with later servicing.

Besides repairing, they've also done written appraisals for me of their own items, even if they were bought at an antique/estate jeweler, even if they're decades old.

ETA: It took about a month to get a written appraisal from them, so obviously not a solution for items from this particular sale.
