Congrats! Do share a pic when it comes in. Would love to see it with the dog bone charm. I have both the Tiffany Amazonite and the pearl bracelet and haven't had any issues with either.

How often do you wear them and how often have you had to restring them?

I have to admit I am a bit annoyed that the fee to restring them is $25- seems a bit steep when you've already paid several hundred dollars :p

Thanks :)

Your input really helped!

Btw- how often have you had to restring your bracelets? The fee to restring it is $25 which seems a bit steep especially since you've already paid several hundred dollars for the bracelet :p
I have never had to restring the amazonite.

My pearls I resting maybe once every two years.

I just got my pearls last year and my amazonite this year. Depending on how often you wear them you shouldn't have to restring them often. I would say probably every 2-3 years.

How often do you wear your amazonite bracelet?

supposedly the $25 is a set price- so its the same for a necklace, for a bracelet, everything. Seems a bit steep.

Although it is nice they have made silver cleaning complimentary, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much :p

To be honest since I bought it back in April I've probably worn it about 10 or more times. For me it was a collector's piece that i just had to have. Additionally because my office setting is very formal the bracelet didn't really go with the kind of clothes i wear to work so i mostly just wore it on weekends with causal clothes.

Oh okay...how about your pearls then? Do you wear that more often and if so, how often do you restring it?

It is a really pretty bracelet- I think I would have maybe gotten it outside of wanting a commemorative piece for my dog as that tiffany blue, amazonite color is fabulous! :)

I wear my pearls alot more because they are dressy and great for formal occasions. I've had them for a year but I haven't needed to get them restrung yet. But again i don't wear every day just out for dinners, somtimes to work and weddings.

How long have you had your amazonite and how often do you wear it?
I've had it for 4 years. When I first got it, I wore it constantly for a year. It was a gift from my BFF for a major Milestone birthday. He gave it to me along with the mini heart tag bracelet. The amazonite is still as tight as it was when I got it.

My pearls I wear almost every day.

Thank you so much!!!! Its so nice to hear feedback from someone who has it! :)

Weird question but- do you get a feeling of when you should restring it? I worry if I take it into T&Co (in the future) they will tell me to restring it because they want the money- this makes them sound more crooked then they really are, but I'm hoping it makes sense what I'm saying.

So does it start to feel "loose" or something? Like the bracelet doesnt feel as tight?

I think it will be like pearls. The string stretches and the beads start moving more freely.

I am surprised by the dire warnings warnings about the pearl nacre wearing away. I have some pearl necklaces and bracelets that are 50 years old. They have yellowed, but the nacre is still in fine shape. I think they are susceptible to alcohol and chemicals, but not to normal things like sweat or water, though I wouldn't immerse them just because the string might stretch.

I'm sure it also has to do with the quality and the type of pearls. As you can tell I'm no pearl expert, but I definitely do understand the difference between Mikimoto pearls and T&Co pearls. Mikimoto pearls are going to be at a higher "class" than T&Co pearls, hands down. I know Tiffany &Co pearls aren't at the same level with Mikimoto pearls, I mean the base of the pearl bracelet I was originally looking at was $350- with a good percentage of that money from the name "T&Co"- granted there is a "name price" for Mikimoto pearls too

I hope I get my point across. I'm sure theres also a difference between freshwater and saltwater pearls- which btw I have no clue :p

But honestly- I was quite a bit surprised with the "cautious" and "fragile" attitude most people have about pearls.
Theres really 2 camps- one where people are very cautious and don't recommend pearls for everyday wear and another where like you, they see no cause to fret about them.
I also think it has to do with the fact people like to complain about everything :p lol so if they see a flaw or a damage to their pearls they complain about it right away, kinda thing.

You mentioned you wear your pearl bracelet everyday, how often have you had to restring them?

I dunno... My pearl bracelet is freshwater pearls, pretty cheap, but they've held up pretty well. You're right that some folks are bothered more by flaws. But like I said, I have one bracelet that is 50 years old and the pearls are still in great shape. Probably because they never got much perfume on them.

I get it restrung about every 18 Months. The string stretches, and the pearls start moving back and forth between the knots. That does not bother me, but I think a stretched string is weaker and more likely to break.
