Thoughts on Hermes Shopping Bag Charm

Was offered one and tried it on my bag. I do like bag charms bc I love the whimsical nature of them. For me, it takes the formal edge off the bag and personalizes it. For sentimental reasons, the orange bag is adorable. For actual use and from an aesthetic/quality perspective, going to wait to see what else comes out and decided to save my money for now as I believe next year a Kelly bag charm will reveal itself.

Have you seen the Curiosite Kelly Charm ( available in gold or silver) on H.com?

it is NAKED ! no strap either . I think you are the first one I come across that likes Ks naked . I don't like twills or charms on exotic bags because it steals from the bags beauty . And I can only use twills if I take an exotic out for a rough ride  and they stay inside the bag in case of emergencies .
Actually most of the bags I see in London are naked. ( or maybe with the strap) Charms are mostly carried by trendy Asians. I do use the strap when I travel. I have another box Kelly and use it with a twilly on the handle.

The charm looks lovely on bright colours and picotins and evelyns and lindys. I saw some stunning photos here, I wish more would post.

I’m a sucker for charms and thought it’s a bargain compared to other H ones. I like MM Rodeos instead of PM and that’s around a $100 more than this charm? So I definitely got one. At first I was hanging it in my DH’s car coz his car has orange accents, but when I got my new Anemone bag it found a new home.

Yes charms are super trendy in the Middle East too . I like to dress up my bags and match charms to twilly , or to shoes. It is interesting to see the deference in taste and trend , we share the same preferences as Asians when it comes to smaller sizes bags and charms but not colors .

How interesting! My major concern with the charm was how overtly 'Hermes' it was. Like part of the reason I love my H bags BC it's relatively logo-less, you only know it if you know Hermes (admittedly most people know the birkin)

Putting an orange carrier bag on it is pretty literally, as another poster said. But still, so cute :D

It's not for me, but I have no problem with others loving it :)

I do think that sometimes when something gets super popular, it becomes more desirable due to the popularity itself (and not just its own merit). It's a cycle. I always remind myself to never fall into that trap and only care about if I love the thing itself.

Me too , I only buy items I truly love . And sometimes I hate something just because I see it everywhere I go ! or everyone is buying it ! I like to make my own collection the way I want it to be . I adore charms sometimes more than some bags :amuse: and now I am looking for custom made charms and rare stuff .
