Thoughts about wallets

I love my LV wallets. They are all over 10 years old and when I got them I never imagined they would hold up as beautifully as they have. They have some minor wear with a close look, but from about 6 inches away they still look like they did brand new.

it's funny you asked this cause i've decided LV makes my all time fav wallets for a few reasons. i've had wallets from chanel, prada, balenciaga and i've decided i like LV best for design, durability and quality.

i had a multicolour sarah wallet for a few years, went to prada and now i'm ready to get the new updated envelope style sarah. just thinking which colour/material i want. but of course i like this style and functionality of this wallet personally best. i don't like vertical slots for cards which is most of chanel wallets. and i don't like zip arounds like the zippy cause i find them annoying to open and close.

oops sorry wouldn't let me post the pic but here's the link:

i actually think overwise. IMO there's more variety and colors to choose from LV wallets. there's so many leather types, styles, and colors. plus limited ed colors coming out every year! (i terms of quality i cant say much as i just purchased my first LV wallet this year)

I prefer LV wallets over other brands. I had cheaper wallets years ago (inexpensive department store brands) but they didn't hold up too well and fell apart pretty quickly. Then I was into Coach - those wallets were good quality back then but now many of their items are made in China. :( I had a few Chanel wallets - caviar skin- but found the interior cc slots really stretched out and the overall wallet just looked beat up over time. All of my LV wallets have held up really well and most of them still look brand new. Even the vintage LV wallets I had still had plenty of years of life left when I sold them.

I agree that the vernis zippy wallets are pricey but if you find a color you like you can always go the pre-loved route. My pomme zippy still looks new after four years! My favorites are the canvas Sarah's though - lightweight and less worries about them being scuffed or scratched inside my bag.

LV wallets are still the best for me. I love them. With other brands, I have to talk myself into it. For the kind of money being spent, it should always be love at first sight!

I have the LV French purse wallet, and can't say how much I love it. Looking at the two, I think I like the kiss-lock opening of the LV better. It seems a lot easier to access, and looks much more elegant, IMHO. Good luck deciding. :smile1:

Thanks for your reply xx
However, I found this LV kiss lock very stiff to open. SA told me it will stay that way permanently. I had to use force and also worried about my mid length nails. Do you experience any concern about this? TIA

I had a vintage but barely used French purse. ITA about the kisslock. I don't know if it's hit or miss with the lock opening smoothly but mine was the same---stiff and very tight. That's why I sold it. I did have a Coach French purse for years and that kisslock was smoother to open- easy to open but not too loose that it would pop open without a little effort. I was also afraid about my nails with the LV one and sometimes I had to twist a little too hard to get it open. :( It was beautiful though.....
