Would love some insight as to the strap length working for someone also around 5’1. How do you make it work? Any model shots you could share? TIA!

Ah - I'm so annoyed - I wrote a super long reply on Thursday and it wouldn't post - I think it was the pictures, so I saved it and thought I'd try again later but alas it's gone. I included all the measurements but I can't be dealing with taking them all again.

In a nutshell - yes, it's long. I only wear it cross body, which is fine, but ideally I'd like it to sit about 1.5inches higher when I'm not wearing a coat - it's almost right with a coat. On one shoulder it is far too long, if I cross the straps under the flap it's about perfect but they try to cross back whenever you open the bag, so I never do that - I've never tried to secured it with anything.

I did take some photos but I can't get them to post - they weren't great for comparison purposes anyway, I was travelling for work (avec le WOC naturally) and I photographed myself in the hotel room in a grey work dress and heels - so it's not that easy to see where my hips etc are.

Hope this helps anyway. If I can upload the photos I'll post them.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do all of that, it’s very much appreciated! Yes that’s my main concern is the strap length. I figure I can buy something to secure it, but I don’t know if I want to do that to the strap. I’ve also seen some bend upwards from the sides and so that makes me nervous if I mess with the strap at all. Maybe it’s not in the cards for me, I already have a mini flap, so thinking maybe I get a larger flap instead. I’m very minimal and simple with stuff I carry so I figured the bag would be perfect grab and go and it’s not “loud” but that strap drop maybe is the deal breaker.

So after an awfully long time of browsing, wanting & lusting, I've finally joined the WOC club...

4 years ago, I wait listed at 3 of my local boutiques after seeing a photo of a WOC on the forum that I thought was beyond stunning. The understated simplicity of it appealed to me & as someone who has sold most of my larger bags, I wanted something that could be a 'grab & go' bag, that I could either dress up or dress down easily. Imagine my horror when it was discontinued a year later & the call never came from Chanel. Boo! Since then I've kept a regular eye out online, but often life has gotten in the way; vacations, lack of money... its always been something. Until recently...

A few weeks ago, I was browsing online over my morning cup of tea & stumbled across the WOC for me. She was shiny, new & in immaculate condition with all of the original packaging, card & receipt. Not only this, but the person selling her has been one of the most helpful & kind people I've had the fortune to meet online.

So, without further or do, here she is...

Photos seem to be uploading now :)

Here it is cross body - it's sitting quite close to my neck in this photo, sometimes I do pull it further onto my shoulder to make it a little shorter.

Sorry - as I said they aren't the best photos because I was wearing a grey dress and heels.

Here it is on one shoulder - as I said I never wear it that way as it's too long. It's funny because in the photo it looks hardly any different from above but it obviously just tips me over the acceptable edge.

I don't have any photos of it on me with the straps changed but here it is on my friend's daughter (she was 3 years and 51 weeks in this photo) so if you're wondering what Chanel handbag to buy a 4 year old.... :)

wocdouble.jpg

I just took some very rough measurements:
  • It's about a 63cm drop (from the point of the strap to the top of the bag).
  • With the straps crossed over it's about a 50cm drop. This is perfect for single shoulder but too short for cross body.
  • I think the perfect length on me for cross body would be a drop of around 58cm.
  • My 227 Reissue has a 51cm drop. Which is a good length for single shoulder but I always wear that with the straps doubled. I find that too short / bulky for cross body.
I don't really mean to put you off a WOC, as you can tell from my earlier raving post - the length doesn't bother me, I still absolutely love it. I'd actually forgotten about the strap being long until you asked. However, if you've already got a mini flap, I can understand why you may want to widen your collection.

Hope this helps!

@trish1400 omg it looks great on you and so cute on your friends daughter. I’ve never seen the reissue WOC it’s gorgeous and looks so soft and squishy! Thank you so much for your advice. I still find myself drawn to the WOC, I figure I might get a medium classic or mini rectangular and if I still see the need for WOC I’ll revisit it again. I love how chic and understated it is so I’m definitely drawn to it.

I have two.
Personally, woc is my goto bag. I travel often for work and my caviar woc is honestly my ride or die. It does depend how much stuff you have. I usually only bring a lip balm, keys, phone.
This bag can easily be worn from day to night, too.
I do suggest you to get it in the caviar leather so you can get a lot of use out of it; at the same time you wouldn’t have to baby it much!

There should be Chanel current price on spottedfashion x
Good luck on your woc purchase!

I am still debating between Trendy WOC and WOC, any advice?

I have both!
Personally I get more use out of my classic caviar woc because it’s a lot more durable. My trendy woc is more delicate and does get scratches since it’s lambskin; however, it is more roomy and can fit more than classic woc.
Either way, you can’t go wrong with a woc!
