I've been following the fall thread closely. I'm mostly interested in Vever's designs. Aren't they all going to eventually be under his direction anyway? Not sure how that stuff works. We're in a transition period right?

I think it's wise that Coach is addressing the production issue. They are definitely producing more than necessary. I also think it's good if MFF is going to have more leather styles. I know some people love siggy bags, but the MFF ones always looked so cheap to me. I think a lot of people associate the Coach brand with those cheap looking bags, and that is definitely not good for Coach.

Just because the bag disappears from the stores and web sites, that doesn't mean it's gone from the Internet. It's still on blogs and forums. People see it, they want it, and they can only find it pre-loved.

They could have a simple style number search on their web site and ask you to call Jax or your nearest FP store to order. They could even feature a popular but available discontinued bag on the special order page that would change every day and when inventory changes.

It may not solve the inventory issues, but it is something to consider. It would play up the service aspect of the business.

I can't ever see them doing that. Designer brands in general don't ever bring back seasonal items or old styles. Doing that would diminish the exclusivity of it.

My understanding is SV will be making some product specifically for outlet. The FP product will be released in early Sept and the outlet product some time after that.

Agree! Coach is still making money selling FP bags through the outlets. Also they are a draw to get people to the outlets, that's why they advertise the FP bags on/for the FOS. People expect FP bags at outlets, so they will always be there. Will every bag be there? I'm guessing every bag that's not sold out will be sent to outlets sooner or later.
