I know too well...I have dressy, casual, fancy casual and super casual belt bags. I've worn mine with rompers, under blazers and jeans for dinner out, and they all look great. will be wearing them into f/w with sweater dresses and otk or ankle boots and tights. being hands free is addictive.

It's the hands free part that has me really loving this trend. I normally carry a vintage LV Ellipse or papillon to work and everywhere else. For days I need something bigger I have a cute London themed backpack I got at Harrods when I was there. For going out I tend to bring a vintage Coach since those are the only small hands free bags I own but it's just not as comfy wearing something crossbody when you're out having fun. I'm going to go to Nordstrom Rack tonight and see if they have anything since it's fairly close to where I work. If nothing then I will hit up the actual Nordstrom at Yorkdale next free weekend I have.

Love love love all these ideas. I don't have a very defined waist, so I like to use it so cinch in oversized blazers and sweaters and jackets to give more of an illusion of a waist. I want to pick up a couple more belt bags for fall to be able to do this!

Everybody looks better with a defined waist, so having a belt that can hold stuff is a good 2 in 1 solution. Just have to be careful that it's not too bulky or you cram too much or else it can look too padded. The blazer idea is great. Since I'm petite, I usually reach for my cropped blazers first, but now, my longer ones will get more use since a belt bag breaks up the proportions better.

Same with coats. I have many 3/4 length coats like this one, Now it gets a diff look with a belt bag.
Please share pics and thoughts when you get them!

Okay guys I am obsessed with this bag and am tempted to buy it. With shipping and duties it will be $248.65 Canadian. Good deal? I'm so ready to pull the trigger!

Cool design w/ the zips. It's real leather, in a shape and dimension that's practical, so I say go for it since it's on sale too. RM is not a no brand name so you are paying more for designer, but I like it.

I'm going to check out Nordstrom Rack tonight and if they have nothing I like I'm going for this one. I don't mind designer or branded as long as it doesn't have the name prominent anywhere on the front and having a zipper is important as I don't want a flap where I can risk things falling out.

Good idea, I think CTR is happening, so hope you find something ideal. If not, I think this is a nice edgy black belt bag...not seen on many people.

So I went everywhere last night and the only belt bags I spotted were Marc Jacobs which were cute but way out of my price range for what I'm willing to spend on this trend. The RM when I factor in shipping and duties the price nearly doubles to just under $300 and my friend wasn't a fan of the bag when I showed him. He said too much going on with the zippers and pulls, but he gave me a brilliant idea last night. There is a leather store here called Northbound Leather that does mostly fetish wear, but you can also have things custom made if you go in and give them a drawing or show them a picture of what you want. I drew up a design and am going to take it in tonight and see if it's something they would be able to make and price out what it will cost to have them custom make a belt bag for me. They already make zippered armband wallets and something similar to belt bags but that harness around your leg for men so I'm hoping this is something they would be able to do. I want the same kind of shape and size as the RM. I'm kind of more excited at the prospect of a custom made bag right now!

A custom one would be awesome, esp if it's a better price point. If u can, try bringing what you'll be carrying in it to make sure length, width and depth is taken into consideration.

Also softer leather may sag more if u carry lots or often, but maybe you want a slouched one? Whatever u decide, I'm excited about the process. Keep us informed.

I usually downsize things when going out so everything I normally take is with me at work today plus way more stuff. I have pics of the RM and a modeling shot of the Marc Jacobs one I tried on last night to reference structure. I also think I want to have a zip put into the back side of it above where the belt loops are to hide things like a passport when traveling too if it's possible. I'm actually quite excited about this idea the more I'm thinking about it.

Update: leather place could not make the bag I wanted as they do not have the proper machines for structured bags. It would have also cost between 300-400 for them to make it depending on labour and how much materials used. I just finished ordering the RM one as there is an additional 25% code bringing the total cost with shipping and duties to $190!
