My handbags always way a ton. I really don't know why, I don't carry anything out of the ordinary. I always read or look at pics of what other's carry in their purses and I feel I carry much less. I finally broke down and bought one of those purse liner thingies. I didn't use it right away, but packed it up over the weekend and can't believe how much I love it. The one major draw back is I switched from my beautiful ostrich Gucci wallet to one of those J Crew flap things, I'm going to look for a nice card case. My handbag is sooo much lighter now! How bout you guys? Have you used this item, if so do you like it or does the novelty wear off? Would love to hear what you think.

Jujuma, I flirted with the idea of using one of those. In the end though I put small items in a cute little pouch thingy I bought in the south of France. I also re-arranged my bags so I no longer carry a Mary Poppins load! If the purse liner works for you you'll probably stick with it. The other thing I flirted with but now never use is a purse hook.

My purse hook is a must have. Everytime I go out to dinner, coffee or shopping and it isn't in my purse I am disappointed. I have plenty of purses that don't stay on the back of the seat, and there are plenty of places with curvy seatbacks.

Not at all - it's still the same weight whether it's 'evenly distributed' or in one corner. Your shoulder doesn't know the difference.:D
Correct. I just lugged a horribly heavy bag all over Italy. I am sorry I made such a dumb mistake - The bag's been through hell now, so I have to keep it.

Actually, ladies, the weight of the bag is going to depend on the leather and the hardware, and then what you put in it. From my own investigations, I would say 75% of the bags I check out are too heavy to carry comfortably before they even have anything in them.

I just bought my new Gucci. It's exquisite. Compliments galore BUT the leather is luxuriously thick and the hardware is heavy so when I fill the bag up with two eyeglass cases (sun & regular), wallet, case for pen, tissues, keys, gum) and phone, the bag is a back breaker!

I had a choice of wearing this luxurious magnificence on Mother's Day, but chose my BV because with carrying all the same things in it, the bag was light as a feather!

I've always been a practicality first kind of person, so I've long since learned not to buy "heavy" bags, and I try to keep it minimalist as possible inside my bag -- just my keys, wallet, iPod, eyeglass case & makeup bag.

I'm going to have to check into one instead of downsizing again. ty

I would suffer for a Birkin, some things are just worth it. The thing with the purse organizer is I got rid of all my heavy stuff too. I use glass socks instead of those heavy cases and there's usually at least one purse pocket to put them in so they don't get crushed, then I got rid of all those cute little pouches(makeup-LV, recipts and coups-falchi, wallet-Gucci). I miss them, but they weighed a ton. Only kept Filofax, I will never go electronic, I love to write things down and I use an iPhone. And switching purses takes seconds now. Do I sound like a commercial yet?
