The Swagger Weighs Heavy On Me

I love my Swagger, but the weight is not really the issue for me, it's the size!

I wanted the black hardware which was only available in the medium size and I'm finding that I have to stuff it to capacity to carry all my junk. Granted, I don't NEED to carry as much as I do, but as life would have it, when there is something I leave out, I will invariably need it.

So now I'm basically just using my Swagger for going out and those occasions when I know I won't need to carry as much.

Ok, I'm eating crow. I put my sti puff in the bag and it was way too heavy. Returned it today, sadly.

I just wanted to mention, I love both of my swaggers! I have the black on black and the patchwork 27 - I don't carry a lot but I don't notice that they are any heavier than any of my other bags. Just my two cents ...

I don't think it's exceptionally heavy - and, for the most part, I'm not actually carrying it - or any handbag - for hours and hours... usually just from the car to appts. - or car to grocery - even shopping (i.e. Nordstrom, Macy's etc) it hasn't been an issue. If I know I'm out for any length of time, I'll usually pick a comfortable handbag - a crossbody or a light weight Phoebe. If you really love the look of the Swagger - I'd get one, and switch out when you need to.

I stopped at a Coach store tonight and tried out the Swaggers. I love that ginger color block. The SA also let me put all my stuff from my taxi whiplash into the bag, and it fit! I didn't think the bag was that heavy either. This bag is definitely on the top of my list. She was delightful and very helpful. She also said that the Swagger was going to come out in some different colors for summer, so I hope she is right. I would love that green. Love that bag.

I know this thread hasn't been active for a bit, but I'm debating returning the one I received today because I didn't realize how heavy it was at the store. I guess I was too excited looking at it and not paying attention to much else

I got the "medium" size, the one between the 27 and 37 ones in black and gold. I have to go back to Coach no matter what because the turnlock plate was scratched throughout and the bottom plates were so scratched, I guess the previous owner felt the bag was too heavy, too lol What I can't believe is that the Coach store at Macy's Herald Square in NYC would just wrap it up and sell it as a brand new $495 bag again. At least be honest and sell it as a display during a sale, but not cover it up and see if it sticks, you know? That Macy's is a huge tourist spot. Imagine you live overseas, unwrap your "brand new" bag and get stuck with a used one? I'd be livid!!

This is the second time I see perfectly wrapped bags (1st time at Michael Kors), brought by SAs from the back as "brand new" (her EXACT words) and they're not new bags I should have inspected the bag before they shipped it, like I always do when I buy a bag, but I was in hurry to catch a plane and trusted it was new because it was all wrapped up. Don't, ladies! ALWAYS check what you're buying! At MK, buying a white bag once, they were all perfectly wrapped and not a single one was brand new and spotless. Had to order from another MK.

i mean.. i have that big hamilton, other people said it's heavy, but i don't feel like it's heavy for me..
now i wanna buy coach swagger, have been googling information about it coz I'm gonna order it online, then read many reviews complaining about its weight....so, im so curious how heavy is it @_@

Are you referring to the regular pebbled leather 27 or one of the glove tanned bags? I have the 27 in the rainbow stitch glove tanned leather and it is a lighter weight than the pebbled.

I used to have the larger Hamilton, but I honestly can't remember the weight difference between it and the Swagger. For size comparison (interior), I'd say the Swagger 27 is almost as big as the e/w Hamilton and medium Selma, but it's definitely heavier than each of them.

I know a lot of people complain about the weight of the Swagger. It's never been an issue for me. Granted, I also don't carry a ton of stuff (wallet, cosmetic bag, small key pouch, keys, iPhone 6 Plus). I think the 27 size is absolutely perfect. They also now have the soft Swagger 27 that's supposed to be lighter. If you feel weight may be an issue, this one might work better for you. It isn't as structured, though.
