It was delivered to my husbands business. going to pick it up right now..I will report back shortly..so excited.
OK. I got my jacket today. I am surprised how light this jacket is. I thought by looking at all the pics it would be heavier. The leather is amazing..super soft. I do believe I would fit better in the 40. I am 5'7" around 140lbs...36d...usually wear med top or size 6 sometimes 8. This is the 38 from bal.com. It is brown with silver zippers. I believe it is from 08. It feels snug in my arms when I bend at the elbows, snug at shoulders/underarms. Not sure about the jacket stretching. According to bal.com I fit into the 40 and according to all you ladies measurements and sizes of your jackets I would be a 40...sad because I love this brown, but it is too pricey for it to not fit perfect. Here are some pics. I just threw on some clothes to take pics..so not looking too hot!! I did the best I could taking pics of myself. What do y'all think?
Now I am interested in buying 2010 Petrol and my concern is the 2010 fit slightly larger..so do I get a 38 or 40? I live in Texas and don't wear sweaters. I will only wear light clothing under it. Any experiences with brownsfashion.com...I want to order Petrol from them..never ordered from out of the country, but really want this jacket.

WOW!!! The jacket looks burgundy in the top 2 pics! That would be BEAUTIFUL...burgundy with silver zips!!!!
I'd say from how you described the fit, to go with the 40. Lots of people have ordered jackets from another country. I'd say go for the one you really want...the Petrol/Canard & get the 40 from Browns. You can always return it if it doesn't fit.

I emailed Browns to order 40 in Petrol..It says you have to email to order...I wonder why..there is no way to add it to cart. Hopefully they have them available. I know the first two pics do look different they are without flash..It is definitely more accurate in the pics of me modeling. Will I have to pay fees ordering from another country?

drati, thanks sweetie! All I can say is that this jacket is worth the money since it's so versatile, you should definitely get one)
Oh yes, I'd love to. But until I can try one in person I think I'll just keep dreaming about it. It's way too expensive to not be sure it fits and suits!

ITA, I did not want to buy one until I had the chance to go to a Bal store and try it on. The sizing is confusing and you have to make sure you like the fit. The jacket is quite short (at least on me) and narrow at the waist and not everybody likes this. Hope you'll get to try one soon
kimber, I already posted on another thread but I'll say it again: the jacket is gorgeous!! Since we are about the same size and I have the 2010 jacket in a size 40 I think you will need the same size too. It looks great with just a thin shirt under it, but I can also wear a whool sweater. But that is just me, I don't like to wear a jacket that is very tight, especially if it's very warm outside

I just got mine from Bal store in HK. They said it's Spring 10 collection though it looks very similar to ones from 09. It's black with brassy zipper. It was the last piece (!) in my size...phew. I have many leather jackets but couldnt resist this one. But seems it's gotten more expensive this year. Hope it's worth it

Well I ordered the Petrol in a 40..hopefully they have it in stock. She said she will not know until they fill they order for sure. She said it is more of blue/gray. I will have to see for myself.

OK ladies..I got my beige 40 tonight and it fits perfect. I am not able to zip it up, but I honestly never zip my jackets anyway and it looks awesome unzipped. I live in Houston, TX and we have had some crazy weather this winter, but still not super cold winters. It is actually snowing in parts of houston right now 
My only concern with this jacket is that it does have some marks on the leather already, mostly on the arms. I took pics. For the ladies that have this jacket..has your jacket gotten this with wear. I honestly love the look of worn leather. It makes it edgy and I love it. If I am keeping this jacket I am not going to be paranoid wearing it. I am going to welcome the wear. Can't believe I just found this thread now, since the Balenciaga leather jacket is one of my HG items I really would like to purchase one but alas I live in Canada and our luxury shopping is very limited...
I'm going to be home in HongKong in May and I was wondering would I be able to find the leather jackets in the Balenciaga boutiques there?
