Pocketbook Pup, I agree that Mauve is purple in Hermes colors. I have a Mauve chevre mini Jige and it is definitely purple. Here it is compared to my Rose Tyrien, with the scarf.

It's kind of a light blueish grey. I'm wearing a navy blue t-shirt with it. I've worn black and also a medium blue top. It's the brightest of the color ways, and the hem is red.
