merrydish - it's not a black white scarf. The border is a very dark green (H calls it vert anthracite), the phoenix feathers and most of the palm leaves are in dark eggplant purple (aubergine)and dark grey (anthracite). HTH .

I am just reposting the pic here so we can see

Carre en Carres is indeed a dip dye and is in the photo. I'm curious about what seems to be a mix of A Cheval sur mon Carre and other designs. And some lovely classic looking designs mixed with brighter colors. If anyone can recognize reissue patterns, let us know!
