Thanks, julian.f!

I think I've found some more information about Jeff Fisher who did Bal des Oiseaux: http://www.amazon.com/Birds-Jeffrey-Fisher/dp/0811862348

Is it just me or is anybody else a bit disappointed with the ex libris plaid design?
I'm not loving it either, MYH. It's just not very interesting.

I think H did a better job with the reissues that with this one - Mors et Gourmettes Remix is a fantastic update of that design, and the embroidered Brides de Gala is also a very neat idea

It may be better irl- perhaps I should keep an open mind- in a nice cw it could work. But there are other more original designs this season to divert my attention.

It may be because I'm trying to fill in the gaps in my wardrobe and I have nothing plaid. But I agree, toujours*chic, there are other amazing designs this season that are must haves for me too, a couple of Leila's and at least one Mors, so my dance card is full!

Compared to ExLenK, yes, it is disappointing and rather derivative-looking. Like trying to incorporate the plaid trend with the H icons. Easy pass pour moi.

Though I'd probably look like death-warmed-over in this cw and pattern, I'm oddly intrigued, go figure.

I agree - not doing anything for me and I was looking forward to it

I'm glad I'm not the only one but yes, I will keep an open mind if I see a nice cw. Perhaps we might all be surprised? I was so looking forward to it because I love ELenK but something about the plaid squares (are they a tad too big?) and coloring makes it look kind of flat. I guess I was imagining a more fine/granular plaid?

That certainly would have been more intricate and a nicer, more complex design, I agree. I'm waiting for modeling pics before voting either way.

It really depends on the CW- when it first came in I turned it down but am rethinking it now
IRL it's not flat IMO but very busy
However when tied-- that could be a different story
Am seriously reconsidering....

Hi sophieg,

What do you think of Brides de Gala brodé IRL? I am interested in ordering it (especially since the price is quite "affordable" but have no chance to see it IRL.. Does it use beads as well or only thread embroidered? Is it so difficult to see it just from the website.

Thanks a lot & best regards

It is hard to tell from the website ... but I got the impression from reading "learn more about the scarf" story that it was not embellished but rather a copy of the scarf that was embroidered for a window display. If it is embroidered, then grab it ... the price point is the same as the silk 90.
