thank you Cosmopolitan.. i think it was cw06 in the echec au roi i saw, orange/mauve/marron. didn't like this cw, colours are dull and muted.

saw ceintures et liens in rose vif/rouge/emeraude, stunning vibrant design, this cw is very similar to my concours d'etriers and tous le bateaux du monde in a dark green cw, didn't like this either, all the colours were rather dull and unflattering! these shawls are already selling at 2013 prices. £30 more than the 2012 shawls.

the 2013 shawls are £30 more than the 2012 shawls, even though both season shawls are being sold at the store!

Plus they sell out a/w 2012 meanwhile, thus no excess stock exists to carry over to the new season.

I do think, merrydish, that your observation is right "on the money."

This company is a wiz at making money. How many companies could make articles out of snippets and scraps of leather and silk and market it as "petit H"? Totally amazing.

Plus, Eagle1002US, if Hermes sells out all or most of the current scarves and merchandise they won't need to have sales as they have had in the past. I understand there basically were no scarves at the last sale in New York City.

Good point,merrydish!

I used to think that H came out super-early with seasonal merchandise so one could buy the accessory first and get clothing to match, rather than the reverse.

I notice the European H sites are really low on scarf variety. How long will H wait to release the Spring designs? Nobody really shops in January or Feb. b/c they are broke from Xmas and the only merchandise available is stuff on its third markdown. It'll be interesting to figure how how H's new strategy fits into a traditionally slow retail time. Of course, H could wait till March or April when spring clothing usually hits the stores and customers start buying again.

What the heck. I bought 3 pucci scarves recently. So, I can hold out for the new H designs for at least another month! :graucho:

scarfmischief1, i tried looking for the designer name last night but i couldn't find it even though it is a much simpler, less busy and less colourful design compared to my other shawls too..hmmm..will look again and come back to you..

Lovely Shawl Chincac. Échec au Roi is by Benoît Pierre Emery . :-) i've seen this Shawl at FSH few days ago. Along with other SS 13 designs. It was so exciting . I got my self Les Trophées ( New Pierre Marie's design) in the mots vibrant colorway ( vert fluo, vert cru, violet) i Will post pictures soon for you. I just realised that since L'ombrelle magique two years ago i 've been pierre's design every season:-)
Wish you all a Merry Christmas and Nice holidays hoping that you Will spend it with the ones you love and that there Will be some orange boxes underneath the tree! Xxxo
