I love your bracelet it's gorgeous! I think you should add a safety chain one for now and maybe wait and get more charms later as present. Could you post a close up of the carousel please. Do you love this charm?:smile1:

Here's some closeup pics of the carousel. I actually saw the pic of carousel from the pandora catalogue and told myself i really wana get this when it launches.. its gorgeous really esp the little details like the horse and a small dot of gold on top of the carousel. Plus its 2 sided, no matter how the charm moves or turn, u still get to see the horse. It also fits with the theme of my bracelet I feel, abit girly, abit fairytale...

U just gave me a great suggestion to wear the snowflake as a pendant. I think it will look nice too! Yes, I do know the clips go over the 2 threads on the bracelet but SA gave me the rubber stopper and after arranging n rearranging the charms on the bracelet, this is the best arrangement I feel.. :smile1:

I think it would look gorgeous! Oh okay, it's just that they are more likely to break when there are no clips over the threads, so just as long as you knew! :smile1: It is very pretty.

I used to collect Pandora, but now I'm torn about whether to keep my bracelet or sell it off and use the money towards something else...

My Pandora bracelet (two-tone) and my first three charms (silver) were gifts from my (now ex) husband and our son for my first Mother's Day. Part of me wants to sell off the bracelet and charms because they're from my ex and I think of him every time I see it... which is why I never wear the bracelet anymore. Then again, part of me keeps the bracelet because it was from my son, too, despite that my son was too young to really choose or purchase the gift for me, and he shows no interest in the bracelet now that he's three...

I have three gold Pandora charms and a pair of clips, purchased for the previously mentioned bracelet, and 2 two-tone beads received as gifts from my former MIL, all retired pieces. Again, I'm tempted to sell them off to purchase something I will wear, as the bracelet and charms just sit in a box due to the memories attached to them. However, because these are retired beads, I know that if I change my mind after they sell, I won't be able to buy them back again...

Any suggestions? Opinions? Should I keep them for sentimental purposes, although the memories associated might not be entirely happy? Or should I sell them off and buy something fresh & new with the money?

I would do some rearranging, maybe take off the ones from your ex, leave it a while, then see how you feel. You never know, you might create something you love!

You're clearly ambivalent and uncertain, so I would advise putting the bracelet in a drawer and not looking at it for several years. I've given away precious things because they had bad memories attached, then five or six years later wondered what had ever possessed me to do something so rash. Getting rid of the items had no effect on how long the bad memories persisted. After several years either the memories were still present or they were not, but either way they no longer had any association with the things I had given away. So I suggest putting the bracelet aside and forgetting about it. See how you feel about it in a few years.

In fact I suspect that the good memories of your son will eventually blot out the memories of your ex-husband and eventually you will just forget about him like all bad things are eventually forgotten. That's what the mind wants to do, forget all bad things. And then the bracelet will remind you only of your son. So tuck it aside until then.

It's so gorgeous! I was actually in my local shopping centre today and I popped into Pandora to look at the new charms. The carousel wasn't on display......maybe it was sold out already! I didn't ask for a look, but I did see all the other Christmas charms which were all cute.:smile1:

In my opinion I think you should sell your bracelet and create one with new memories and new adventures. The old bracelet is a memory of your past, your ex husband, your ex mother in law. The charms you say were also from your son but because he was too young to choose them, they were really from your ex husband so don't feel bad. If you started a new bracelet, you could get your son to help you choose some new charms. You also say that some of the charms you have are retired but the chances are you will still feel the same about them in 1 month or in 1 year.

This is only my opinion and I know others will say keep it, but I really do believe you should start afresh and sell it, then treat yourself to some new charms. This way you will have something to represent a new start.:smile1:

I got an essence bracelet and a couple of beads the other day. I love them! They're so dainty and pretty. I find my other pandora bracelets too bulky for everyday.

I am glad you got yourself some nice treat! I just with Pandora would make some smaller size of murano glass charms - simlar size to the new essence charms. The existing ones are too big. Perhpas that is hte only reason I haven't got any murano glass charms on my bracelet. Enjoy your new lovely essence bracelet!xx

What is the width of the charm at the biggest part?:smile1:

I actually don't mind the murano size. I have three and am used to them. Were you thinking of buying one or are you dead set against it because of the size?

It is the size really. Especially now I have seen the size of the new essence charms and it even convinces me more that the current size of those murano are big big to me. There ARE some murano glass charms I reall really like, it is just the size that I am not too sure of...

Hmm, maybe they should make smaller ones for people who like a smaller size. The big ones a while back looked terrible and I can only imagine they got in the way.

I don't like muranos either, they look pretty on other people's bracelets but I just can't wear them. They're too bulky. Smaller ones would be good, it was requested a lot, I think that's the look they were going for with the essence collection.
