The OMG! They want HOW much for that bag/scarf/shawl/accessory???? Thread

Another deluded seller on EBay - at least a bag or a wallet would have some practical use - I admit to having bought many of these metal H charms/cadenas issued year on end - and they have no use whatsoever, apart from looking pretty or interesting. But, when the collector gene kicks in, you do the deed  - but that was long before they commanded outlandish prices. This one is quite rare, but still - I’m aghast at the price.

That's hilarious, I paid $180 for mine  I'd say it must be a misprint, but then I see some other prices like $5000 for an Onimaitou:eek:

Put them on a Kelly double tour bracelet!

That price is crazy, are any of them really selling for that amount? In also have couple of these, but I don't really have any intention of selling them. At that point you could basically exchange it for a Kelly bracelet in real gold though.

I think this qualifies. Anyone have a spare $475K for a bag in very good condition? It is a diamond Hima though.

Buy it today and you get $500 site credit!!!:lol::lol:

Edited to add, I wonder how much money did the original purchaser spend at Hermes in order to be offered a gray diamond Himalaya?
Insane price aside, I feel like this level of bag is one that should be in an auction, not on TRR alongside all of the office clothes that people are trying to get rid of from 3 years ago (I’m saying that having been one of those people.)

I agree with you. TRR is not the venue I would choose to rehome this item. Heritage, Christie’s or Sotheby’s would be my choice.

Didn't a bag like this sell at auction for more than $1m+?
I just did a quick Google search, according to Sotheby’s, a diamond Himalaya birkin sold for over $450K in 2022. But it was the normal, not gray color. I’m not sure whether the $450K was the hammer or final price.

The thing about TRR is that you cannot examine this bag IRL, and it’s final sale. I guess if you can afford $475K….

I agree- the first thing I thought when I saw your post was " must be fake". This is SO not the venue for that.
However, I've had TRR send an item I was interested in to a store near me, so I could examine it in person- for over a certain amount- (maybe $1000??) they will do that. I then ( after asking permission, but it WAS a deal breaker, as I made perfectly clear), I took all the requisite pictures for Bababebi, sent them to her, and waited for her to confirm authenticity. Only then, and for A LOT less, would I consider TRR.

I know this thread is for resellers but sometimes even the mothership loses her marbles. We all know H is expensive, nothing new here but Hermès is now doing yoga wear and the prices, well, pretty much belong in the "how much?!" category:1687350671425.png

Sports bra for €400? Leggings for €750?

All I can say is that, for those prices, these pieces better make me as flexible as an artist from Cirque du Soleil when I wear them!

And give me the bod I had as a twenty year old to boot. I mean, I get that some people have so much money they don't know what to do with it so why not, but then again, if you have so much money you don't know what to do with it I can think of better ways to waste it than on workout gear, LOL.

I was just looking at these yesterday (liked the black/navy) until I saw the price. IDK where H gets its pricing ideas, but I am sure some customers will buy them. I will stick to cheaper ones that I can toss in the washer/dryer without a worry. Outrageous pricing really.

An average 4,900 Euro Kelly Pochette for 31,500 Euro ?

I'm sorry, but please allow me to ramble:
By the way, so many resellers on Vestiaire Collective alone. Like this one. Have a look at all the offerings/past offerings! The most popular products, including SO ...
And we loyal ( trusty=) customers wonder why it has become so difficult to get Orans, Chypres, Finesse jewellery etc?
I find it so sad that Hermès can't or won't stop the resellers on VC, some of whom have been "active" even for many months and even a few years?
I do wonder: Are we supposed to be made to buy from the resellers?

Exactly my thoughts. Why, Hermes? Of all things, why sports bras and bicycle shorts?

To @Pivoine66 's point, I wonder the exact same thing. I used to have no issues, long time customer, SOs, etc. Now all I hear are the sound of crickets. Nothing in stock. The usual lines. And yet, get on Vestiaire, and there are at least 120 H pieces, Never worn, for sale in my country alone (I live in a small country) - we're talking quota and wishlist bags here. People are just flipping pieces, and you can tell by the prices. I know I've sold my piecees on VC, but I also used them and then didn't and decided to sell them. But that isn't reselling, not in this offensive, price gauging way. And a lot of it is caused by H itself. But we digress and this is off topic so... Someone wants 31,5k and now 43K for a (epsom) mini Kelly...and I'm sure it's not a typo. I wish them the best of luck getting it. But I'm sure this type of thing turns a lot of loyal customers slowly away. Pity.
