The Nose Ring (or stud) Question: Where do YOU stand?

My nose is pierced. I had it done when I was 18 I think, and I'm now 31 and have no immediate intentions of removing it.
I remember when I was quite young I had a pair of earrings, little blue apples, and I lost one. I told my mum that one day I'd get my nose pierced and wear it on its own ;) She wasn't too happy about it but didn't try and stop me.
I wear the ball ended type of nose stud, so there's really nothing inside your nose at all. I can't leave mine out though otherwise it closes over really quickly

I would never pierce my nose. Call me old-fashioned, but I dislike the look of piercings, with the exception of one hole in the lobe of each ear. I especially dislike the look of the earrings that are made to look like the hoop with the little ball, or barbells. In my opinion, earrings should look more ornate, or be made of a real gemstone or pearl.

I don't but my stepdau does & it's cute on her (simple diamond stud), however, sometimes the clasp inside her nose looks like a booga. I've told her several times she needs a tissue when it's been the clasp. She is aware obviosuly of this problem but doesn't seem to mind.

I would never pierce my nose because the hole will never close up and unlike your ears there is no hair to cover the hole. I have not worn earings for 10 years and the holes are still there.

My lobes have been pierced for 25 years and are always closing up on me.
However one of the reasons that I never had my nose pierced was b/c of all of the ppl that I've known who ended up w/a hole on the side of their noses that would not close up.

Shimma- I really enjoyed your original post. I've been home sick all day & your story was so lovely that it perked me up a bit. Thanks:smile1:
I am so glad! You have made my day! Thank YOU!

I think for some people, age might help out there. Or if not, there are so many technologies available today to add hair to places that don't have it. You could get tiny little nose extensions...

You know, I think it is like the nose ring, or which earrings. Or anything else, clothes too, it just depends on the person. I have seen people who looked great with eyebrow rings, just like some people look great with a little sparkly nose stud, and there are even people who can actually wear button earrings, and those shoulder duster things.

But put any of it on the wrong person, and it is no different from those empire waist tops. If it's not right for you, you are going to look fat, pregnant, or both, and if you wear the wrong bling in the wrong place, you might not look pregnant but - OK you get the idea.

We are so lucky to be living in a time of fine quality eyelash glue, so that we can do trial runs of all kinds and shapes and locations of facebling to see what works for us!

LOL!!! You are hilarious!!! :p

I don't have mine pierced but I think a small diamond stud would look nice. I would like to get one but I do worry that one day I won't want it anymore and I don't want a hole on the side of my nose.

No, but I LOVE the tiny nose stud look on others.

I went through a piercing phase that ended by the time I was 21. I had my bellybutton, ear cartilage, eyebrow and tongue done (in addition to 2 in each ear).

I have since removed all but one in each ear.

I would never pierce my nose, because I already have scars on my ears, navel and tongue. THANK GOODNESS there is no scar on my eyebrow. My nose is one of my few features I actually like. I would hate to mess it up!
