Thank you for biting the bullet and breaking it down for us, Rose! A lot of things about this are definitely meh, and that foil comparison gave me a good laugh.

2 good things I can say about this: I appreciate it doesn't come with the weight distributor (hate those) and this color of silver is very striking.

However the leather quality doesn't hold a candle to your oldie.

Thank you! This is valuable intel. Same lettering/font and serial tag format as all the recent bags, but it's good to confirm, and see what the serial number and color code is.

And M is for F/W 2024.
My pleasure!
This was fun!

Although I have to admit, I was secretly hoping I would like it enough to keep it.

The price, however, is still outrageous, IMO.

I am pretty sure, based on the feel, that it also has peeling potential.
The silver looked and felt like a coating, not something that penetrated the leather.

Yes. Unfortunately all these new Le City bags look like they're been thickly shellacked, and not lovingly caressed with penetrating dyes.

Thank you so much for the tag pic!
I'm seeing some slight differences with the same letters and numbers (for example the inside space of the first A is not as large as the second A). Which 15 years ago would have meant probable fake, but recently has just meant probably normal.
It's those little inconsistencies that makes me unable/unwilling to authenticate the newer bags. :annoyed:

I agree. I don't ever weigh in on these new tags, despite owning at least 6 of the latest bags with these tags. I'm comfortable enough to authenticate for myself when I'm buying, but I'd be nervous doing it for others.

The only thing I can do is confirm serial number, and color and season letter to some degree, but that's about it. The fakes most commonly get those details wrong. But if there's a really good fake that gets those details right, I have no other objective points of authentication to go on. Other than some fakes just look fake from a thousand miles away.
