Does anyone have a malachite pendant? I understand why the bracelet would be fragile to wear as it’s hard to not get wet when wearing, but for a pendant do you think wear and tear would be less of an issue? I recently bought one and plan on using it more as an every day type of necklace but now I’m worried about the fragility of it. I figured if it’s a necklace it can’t get wet unless you shower or go swimming with it, but maybe I’m being naive

I have the necklace but I never go swimming or shower with it. The stone will quickly get damaged and ‘cloudy’ if you do so. I do prefer necklaces I can wear 24/7 but I do make the effort to take my malachite necklace on and off each day and it’s as good as new. I’ve had it for just over a year

Have you noticed any colour changes to your stone at all? My only worry is body oil or sweat in the hotter months

TBH, I believe the stone changes depending on your skin's pH levels. I've had mine for a few years, washed it a few times and have worn it during the hottest summers and the luster has not changed.
Some people have complained on this forum that even with the slightest and careful use, theirs has changed.
I guess you won't know until you buy it.

Here are some pictures of a 5 motif I wore on and off (never in shower never touched water no oils or creams touched the stones.)

Just an example of what natural body heat or chemistry can do to the stones in about two weeks:
(I’ll also include the picture of it new)

I still love the look but I think earrings and pendant are the best option for those who want their malachite to stay looking great.
Pendant should be worn against clothes or it will fade too. Earrings will remain beautiful just make sure to never spray anything on your hair or face while wearing them, remove before sleeping, showering etc. they should be last thing on/first thing off.

Hello, I’m considering on getting the malachite alhambra pendant but I’m a bit scared on how delicate it is. I’m pretty good with taking care of my jewelry in general but so far I mainly have solid gold, gold with diamonds, and onyx pieces. I’ve been eyeing on the malachite and I wonder how your pieces has been holding up?
Perhaps going through this thread would be helpful to you? :flowers:
