My Family Needs Your Help

I am writing this blog post because my family desperately needs your help. My cousin, Cici, has been battling cancer for 17 years and she is no longer responding to the chemotheraphy drugs. Her best option now is a bone marrow stem cell transplant, which would hopefully give her many more years to live.
Because Cici is Armenian, the donor must be of Armenian descent, so we are asking every Armenian to reach out to the bone marrow registry and sign up with hopes of finding a match for Cici. Your help truly means the world to us!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank those of you who signed up to register to be a donor for my cousin Cici. 1200 people signed up in just 24 hours and all we need is one match! Because of the amazing response we received, the largest international bone marrow registry has set up a link JUST for Cici — www.BeTheMatch.org/HelpCici. I want to cry I am so grateful. We have been praying for 17 years and God has been so great to us! I know she will find a donor!

No desrespect to their cousin, but why is it that when the topic of cancer has come up in the past Kim only mentions her dad as being the only person in her life who has delt with it.

I'm a be the match donor. U have a super slim chance of matching someone. Haven't been called in 4 years so far.
They say the best matches are those who have the same background. I don't think the donor HAS to be Armenian but they might have the best match for her if that person is.
Yes. Bone marrow donations need to be even more genetically similar to their recipients. The chances of finding a match even within one's own family are only about 30%.
