Lamar is a bad fit for the mavs and the team really doesnt need him. What they need is a small forward to replace Butler.

He has had stretches where he performs (in the limited time he is given) ok to well but then he will have a bad game and the mavs loses which is not even a result of him but he is used as the scapegoat. Lamar gets down on himself and then goes thru at least 5 games before he can get back to where he was. I think the mavs media and fans are garbabe to be honest.

Lamar probably sees this team for what it really is just a collection of guys playing and he knows they have no chance of going deep into the playoffs let alone repeat their championship. He is a champion after all, two times and three times he has been to the finals. He knows what it takes to get there and win it all, twice.

I hope he keeps up tonight effort not only to keep the media off his back but for his next contract negotiation.

I really don't see this at all, on fan boards, the media, etc. No one blames Lamar for DAL losing IMO. They blame him for sucking. Alot of the Mavs media (cough Eddie Sefko) seems to kiss his a** then too.

Tha Mavs fans are awesome + one of the most knowledgable + fair fan bases around (+ i'm not even a Mavs fan. My teams are the Pistons/Knicks) Sorry, this just makes me scratch my head because the Mavs have coddled him so much. Any other contending franchise is a big market would've made Lamar cry, bench him totally, or made him go into hiding by now. I dont see unfairness. I see the opposite + even more so than fair.

We just have to agree to disagree. I know sometimes it takes players a lot of time to adjusted ) and given the short season, virtually no training camp and Dallas having a completely different offensive/defensive schemes that he has been used to for the past 7 years, it is not suprising that he having problem getting his game to fit their system.

My teams are Orlando and Miami, we have had some sucky players and I dont think the media had focus on them so much. For goodness sake, espn dallas has like 3 stories on Lamar per day. A bit much for someone who usually plays less then 20 minutes.

ORL is a very small market + they are not title contenders. The media/fans also coddle Dwight because they terrified of him leaving. MIA press protects the big 3 or should i say big 2 as they bash Bosh alot.
