The jewelry acquisition itch strikes again...

I agree with everyone about falling in love with what you have...very practical. I love the VCA I already own and will buy more VCA and will especially love it worn all together. It is a win/ win! Sorry I know we are a bad influence.

I put a lot of my jewelry in a safe deposit box and just keep a few at home to wear. Whenever I feel the need to get more, I visit my safe deposit box and take out something I haven't worn in awhile. I have even forgotten what I have sometimes. It makes it all new again and it's fun to "shop" from my safe deposit box.

I am struggling with this as well. Even though last year I bought a ballon bleu and three Tiffany pieces, ( diamond by the yard, three ring atlas earrings, gorgeous fine pearl earrings akoyi) I am still dying for more. I started school much earlier than I had anticipated and now have to live between two major cities a week. That commuting sadly equals a nice piece of jewelry. I think it's best to keep "exposure" to a minimum. Ie actually limit time on the forum, and focus on other collections that need tending to but to a far lesser degree. Ie. I am redoing my shoe collection and slowing started updating my wardrobe. I really shouldn't complain because I have two treats from Lv this month but I also still get that acquisition itch! I think the best way is to distract yourself so you don't feel without. Don't distract yourself with other items with a huge price tag attached but I think you know what I mean. I've seen a lot of people in the Lv forum budget out a certain amount of their paycheck to get a bag, ie. 15 dollars a week 25 dollars, etc.

If only gold prices would go back up I could trade in my gold for a new piece! I also keep hoping I have a nice piece of jewelry under the tree next Christmas!

I love everyone's ideas! Especially "shopping" in your own safe deposit box and focusing on other collections. I don't have a safe deposit box yet, but I have been bringing out pieces that I had almost forgotten about and that has been really fun! I've been trying to give my solitaire pendant a rest and I remembered how much I loved my T&Co silver mini bow pendant and how much I enjoyed it before my diamond replaced it as my everyday go-to. I have been spending less time on this forum, but I still do like to check it for fun every once in a while. I've been focusing on streamlining my wardrobe too and getting rid of things that I don't really wear any more. I've also been bringing my shoes in to be re-soled, polishing my silver pieces, and fixing anything in my favorite clothing items that need repair.

I am finding for myself that re-organizing my jewelry is helping me to wear different pieces more often, because I can actually get to the pieces more easily.

Also, re-defining some of my concepts for wearing jewelry - such as no longer requiring myself to have to have a special occasion or dress up to wear the dressier pieces, and also opening myself up to mixing metals, etc - has made it easier to wear more pieces more often.

I am liking that very much!

This made a big difference in the way I wore/wear jewelry, when I first realized I could wear whatever jewelry I wanted, whenever I wanted.
I started noticing photos of "rich" women, like stars or socialites, who wear fabulous pieces of jewelry every day, not just for special occasions.

I don't have expensive jewelry, yet I realized I was saving my nicer pieces for special occasions that never seem to come around very often. Now I wear whatever I feel like wearing, mix up metals, wear 4 rings at a time, stack bracelets, etc. So much more fun!
