The 140 is a really deep navy. I would say comparable to black unless you put it against black. It really depends on how you use it. You can tie 90 in a lot more ways. 140 is so functional for me because I can use it as a blanket/shawl/scarf.

I have bought 3 different CWs of same scarf a couple of times.
There are more triplets but this is the only photo I have to hand at the moment.
And back to topic, I have several cws of this season’s Mountain Zebra.
I have that Jungle Love in 140 cashmere. It’s very close to black. To me, 90 silk and 140 cashmere serve very different purposes. While 90 silk is more like a accessory, 140 cashmere is essential to keep me warm in fall and winter. If you live in cold climate, I recommend 140. I use my cashmere 140 a lot more than 90 silk.
MightyBigRed, this is so nice of you, thank you very much! I went to my store also the same day and could try the blue Garde Robe but they still don't have the red. However I loved the design based on trying the blue and now thanks to your picture I've decided to get the red oneI asked a friend who is flying through Heathrow today to get it for me so hopefully I can post modeling pix tomorrow! Very excited as I've wanted a red scarf forever. Thank you again!
In the meantime, here are mod shots of the blue Garde Robe Pop and Acte III CSGM in pink/blue in case they help anyone. The latter is beautiful, but I think I might prefer to get a 90 in that color family a few months down the line. The blue Garde Robe is also lovely - the polka dots almost look like stars twinkling in the night sky

on the color - it’s magic because depending with what you combine it it looks navy or black. it is an insanely dark navy (i think bleu noir) so you perfectly combine it both with black and navy

I love the losange format. I live in a cold climate and thus get a lot of wear out of any CS blend scarf. The losange is a nice option when I want warmth without as much bulk as the CSGM. Hope that helps/enables LOL!!
I also own the 140 CSGM...to me it reads black when I wear it...perhaps because I usually have a black outfit on? Both of your options are truly lovely though!
For me, they serve completely different purposes, so I would have no problem using them differently. I use the cashmere on a regular basis for probably 7 -8 months of the year- they are phenomenal !! They can be tied multiple ways for style, warmth, etc. Although the 90s can be worn so many different ways, they just don't work for me at work on a daily basis.
The JL cashmere reads black- the "ink" blue is so dark that it perfect with everything. My clothes are basically black, and it looks great with a black coat or leather jacket ( or dress in a freezing office!).

I agree with @Darma . The 90's and 140's do entirely different things. I actually find each equally useful and the JL Rainbow from this season is really a beauty in the B/W color way but so is the 140 shawl from last season. The bigger question (for me) would be do I love JL enough to have it twice? Does my current scarf collection have enough room for another duplicate? And most importantly, does my current budget vs. wishlist allow for a duplicate? If you answer yes to all of these, then the only other thing to consider would be whether to buy them both in B/W or get one in another color combo for variety.
@blydia - Anytime I see you post I have to fight off the urge to scramble to go buy whatever it is you are wearing!

Me too. The $$$ plus it seems like it might not be as versatile as the square silks. I love the look of it but are there other ways to tie it? BTW it looks fabulous on you!
