And how many cars does that person have? Or shoes and purses? Or other collectible? It is really none of their business how many you have or appear to have.

Thanks to you all! I guess I was kind of surprised she would say anything. I moved here eight years ago from a more cosmopolitan area, where no one would have raised an eyebrow or even noticed.

I am in public service in a senior position, so dressing up a bit is expected. That said, it is also a place where people tend to be fairly thrifty. This is my only area of higher-end spending. My house and car are nice but not flashy, and certainly the rest of my wardrobe is unremarkable.

I have been a scarf girl since high school, and I wear one almost every day. I probably bought too many over the last year, but I do love them!

I will phase them in and just smile.

I used to be an Upper School teacher at an independent school. I wore my scarves 3-4 days a week. Many of my students would try to guess which of my scarves I would wear!

Scarves are fun! Wear them in the best of health! :flowers:

I’ve had someone at work say something similar like “how many do you have? Are they all Hermes?” I felt a little embarrassed at first but then decided to just own it. I can be scarf girl. I’ve been “collecting” for 10 years at this point. It does make me a bit more selective in my seasonal scarf picks though. I went a bit overboard last season so I’m actively slowing down this season. Some of the scarves on my list have also been slow to come in. I’m surprised no one has posted aloha here yet.

Stopped in at the Vegas Crystals store while traveling through. Saw Petit Duc in navy and black colorways. I was looking for @Awillow's white one or the parme and blue, but no luck. I snapped some photos for other neutral lovers.

I really liked the black one, but it seemed too much like my Etude pour une Parure de Gala. The "white" in the black colorway is cooler,it's but not quite white. It's more ivory. The "white" in the navy colorway is more of a warm bronze/taupe/light gold.

These are wonderful!

I love the cream one I got - it was on order, and my SA out it aside for me. I also tried on the tabac/black which was absolutely lovely, but it didn't look as good on me or fill a hole in my existing scarf colorways.

I bought it last week. It’s available in permabrass and palladium; not sure about rose gold. I’m terrible at using scarf rings at the best of times, but I figured this would work on my 90s since I usually wrap them around my neck twice, not leaving a lot of silk to work with in terms of rings.
Well, that is true, but I’m already regretting the decision to buy this. It’s just not very fun or practical for me and the way I use my scarves. Cute, but won’t get a lot of time out of it’s box unless I find other ways of using it.
Thank you for your interesting return. Sorry you regret your purchase, do you think it could be more useful with smaller scarves like gavroche or twilly?

@TammyPrincess77 — Similar to my question—is it too small to use with a 90cm? Or the broader question: why impractical?
I ask because I was thinking of this for a trip into H next week. TIA!

Too funny! I loved wearing scarves in high school. In fact, I still have the first one I bought, a coral and white gingham pattern. (I've been debating whether I should get a Samsara for its gingham pattern). And I kept on wearing scarves. I've never been particularly excited about shoes and don't go into raptures over bags. But I love the way a scarf in a trendy pattern or color can jazz up an outfit.

I'm finding that certain seasons of H scarves appeal to me and others don't. So I see nothing wrong with getting a bunch of HS if the colors and patterns work well for me. Because sometimes they don't. :)

Thank you! I feel really lucky to have so many wonderful scarves. Someone at work has started counting how many I have, almost making me embarrassed to wear them...
Sheesh, how rude and gauche for someone to do that to you! I hope you can find a congruent way to silence them so subtly they won’t know what hit them! My goodness. Wearing beautiful scarves or jewelry or handbags or any other thing we want to wear is OUR business! If it’s not a compliment I say keep quiet! You look gorgeous in all!

Yes, and if they are doing this to you my guess is at the root of it is envious spoiling. So phooey on them! We scarfies stick together! As my DH likes to say, or has to do occasionally at work, “it’s time to have a motivational speech with them”. And boy can he “motivate” when necessary!

One other thought, I have people “count” but only in the best way possible. They come close and exclaim and enjoy the beautiful silk and patterns and ask questions and the artists I work with of course are totally into them. That is so fun to share. I wish you had that instead of some prim person that likely also counts how many martinis one has :annoyed:

I did that too at my job. Then I got into making beaded necklaces and coordinating them with the scarf and outfit. It feels better to look nice, don't you think?
yes, It feels fabulous to look nice and to feel like a million bucks in what we wear!! I almost have a quasi uniform now, but it for sure always includes an H scarf and a Tiffany pendant. Dress it up or down, and I am ready for anything. I suspect most of us here feel like a million in our H. And this season has helped with that for sure!

I actually think it might be pretty useful for any scarf size (smaller than 100cm). What I failed to take into consideration is that I don’t change the way I wear my scarves very much, and as previously mentioned I’m all thumbs when it comes to tying scarves and using scarf rings. ‍♀️
Oh well. If I ever want to tie a twilly as a bracelet or a necklace I’m sure this will make for a cute detail.
It was quite modestly priced (around €100), so no harm done.
