Hi! Im mostly a Louis Vuitton lover but thinking of buying the Chanel GST with shw. Just heard that the GST has been discontinued and I had been thinking of saving for the bag till the end of this year.. I know I can't get it in stores anymore, now or in the end of the year, but do you think it will be hard to get even as used then? So should I hurry with the purchase?
Then another question: Why is the CC in the front different in the bags? Has it changed through the years, are these two different some how (different leather?) or is either of them fake? (Pictures linked)

I have to vent. I just given my advice to several ladies on TPF who asked me where is best place to consign your GST. I had great quotes from Fashionohile for a brand new red GST with all stickers still covering hardware $2800. and a grey, new but no stickers $2600. I submitted request for brand new from store black with ghw, all stickers covering hardware and they gave me buyout quote of $1400.?!?! I couldn't believe difference so I emailed them and they then offered consignment of $2300. So disappointing as the black with ghw is the most wanted and this bag is brand spankin' new. Sigh.... So ladies, shop around at many consignment stores before settling.

The only way of buying would be overseas or through resellers websites. They raise the price way over the last retail price. I stocked ebay everyday and found a good deal for a brand new bag. Mine is navy, if you're looking for black, they might be harder to get.
GST was redesgined slightly in 2010 (I believe), instead of patched CC's on the 2nd photo, they're stitched now, and the grommets were switched to bigger ones with engraved 31 Rue Cambon Chanel. When looking, I'd keep in mind price increases and wouldn't pay current retail price for older bags.
I'm sorry Cateyes, it seems like they were trying to lowball and then sell it for triple the price. Maybe other consignment store will give you a better deal. May I ask why are you selling your GSTs?
I have experienced the same issue with them, particularly when I sold some brand new LV multicolor items. They give you below retail and then sell it for way above retail. I have been searching for a new GST and have noticed they usually sell brand new ones for around 3500.
It does sound like that huh? There are used ones on there site for over $3k....
Just never used it as its right under my underarm so I told DH even though he and I love the color combo of black with gold, I will let it go to fund a bag I can comfortably use as it just sits there all wrapped up. No use in it going to waste!
Hmmmm....they do sell brand new items, especially ones we cannot buy any longer for higher price. I wanted a Chanel iridescent fabric bag about a year ago but they had it priced at today's jumbo prices (it's from around 2009 or so) and it wasn't perfect. Someone did end up buying it so.....I guess. Just didn't make sense since they have so much for a red and a grey GST.
Same here. Last year when I requested a quote from Fashionphile for my brand new GST in black caviar w/ ghw, purchased 2 months earlier for €2700, they gave me a price of $1500. Similar price for Yoogis closet.
Yoogis is great to buy from due to lower prices but not to consign to. I've only consigned my reissues as they offered me most but I still got $2400 for a 1 year old silver 227 like new condition.

I think I will try to hunt a preloved one from here Finland or other Europe, because in the US the bag was (even as a new when still in the stores) 1000 dollars more than in Europe.. And the ones sold in eBay or other reseller sites are mostly from US and in high dollar prices, plus that i would have to pay 24% vat for the customs .. I can get a lot cheaper from Europe, just have to do some research and wait for the right one..

Just bought this new to me GST. I'm very late into GST and this is the first time I examined a GST close up. I think it's a very practical and well made model.
The bag that I bought yesterday was a chanel XL GST bag and the serial number is 18xxxxxx? Why do you think they're still selling bags like that this year? Is there a big possibility that the item is returned? No more stickers on the front and side and the feet just the inside. It's in Chanel Boutique in Canada. Can someone enlighten me? I paid full price for a bag made between 2013-2014? Isnt that kinda unfair? Also it's good to note that I found a little uneven stitching at the back of the bag. Isnt there stitching supposed to be perfectly symmetrical? And a little deformed? Also the zippers already tarnished? Is that acceptable for new purchase? Isnt the caviar a little dull? I cant compare to good ones because it's the last one on stock at the boutique and nowhere to find anymore in canada.
