I've recently realized that one of the leather strips on the shoulder strap feels a little waxy (that's the best way I can explain it). Has this happened to anyone before? And I know it's 100% authentic. Purchased it directly from Chanel and then even sent it in to them for a hardware repair. Thanks!

i carry a ton of stuff to work w/me and i've been considering the GST as my everyday workbag. wondering from owners... can the chain straps and bag itself handle a lot of weight/stress or perhaps i need something stronger than the GST? i have ruined some low-end totes with leather straps b/c the weight is too much from items inside and the straps break. i was thinking the chain straps might help support more weight? maybe? i tend to carry books and files, so heavy items.

For me, the chain is not long enough to be comfortable under my arm. Especially if i wear thicker jacket.
If i dont wear jacket, it is perfect (with straps keep falling off)
The bag is heavy even with little things in. So if u plan to put really heavy stuff, my opinion is to look for other chanel tote.
But i still love my gst, and hate it sometimes!!!!

I agree with u
That's the reason I sold my GST though it's perfect it's too heavy when filled and can't go under my arm sigh

Do u have any other totes to recommend in Chanel that is light weight

I have the Chanel shopping fever tote. It's very light weight but it's from pre Spring 2014 collection so I'm not sure if it's still available anywhere. But I do love it and it is great for work!
